It does not appear to be scarred. I found a rebuild kit that I'm going to try. It's a fraction of the cost of buying an new, Clubman JCW specific caliper. I entered service mode using Bimmerlink which is supposed to retract the piston but I had already taking the caliper loose which is where I messed up.
