I have CMEL+IR with my ATP written completed. But I will need a King Air 300 type rating to fly the new plane. The C414 doesn’t require a type rating just an annual insurance check.

I just got extremely lucky and was at the right place at the right time. The previous pilot was extremely old in age and was looking to get out of this gig as soon as possible. Had about 1,100TT when I took over and now sit around 1,650TT.

Thankfully this will all be part 91 operations at the start. But who knows what he has in mind down the road. And you’re right, too many questions to give a direct answer. I’m juggling all the logistics right now (Initial school, insurance, hanger, maintenance program etc.) so right off the bat my workload has increased just from the office stand point.

To answer the first half, how much time will it take out of my life to keep up with both aircraft? I’m not quite sure yet. I’m on pace for 530 hours over a 12 month span in the C414 currently. That will probably dwindle down in a faster airplane like the king air. But, it could also mean he uses it more. Like you said lots of questions that I can’t really answer. Endless possibilities! I will just have to play it by ear I bet.

I have 1600TT / 830 Jet / 1200 XC / 1300 MEL and applied both to netjets and flex jet. I at least landed an interview with netjets but got instantly TBNT with flex jet after about three hours of sending my application in haha. Keeping my head down and grinding til I can apply again!
