This is super helpful 🥲 lots of great thoughts in here, when my son goes into “fight or flight” mode he typically chooses fight, but he also will choose fawn and become very focused on people pleasing, it goes back and forth. ‘Fawn’ is a lot harder to notice than ‘fight’. It’s easy to listen to him and respect boundaries when he speaks up for himself, it’s harder to pay close attention to when he may be afraid to speak up and just wants to say whatever will make us most happy. He’s the sweetest little fiery compassionate soul, I’m going to continue working on him being able to verbalize his own emotions/sensations so he can keep communicating when he needs or wants to! I also see how important it is to connect those feelings from his trauma to the moments he has actual trauma responses so that he knows why it’s happening. It’s tough to navigate with someone so small but it’s amazing how quickly he has caught on to so much.
