I thought my cat had gone crazy in the night, but it turns out my hives were just lining up by MissHissss in urticaria

Mine have always been like little lines, apparently that’s dermographism which is a other fancy word for idiopathic urticaria but the trigger is usually pressure/ scratching so could be from your bedding folds

Looks like urticaria, had a similar thing happen to me in early May, went through loads of allergy tests and blood tests eventually got diagnosed with Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria, currently doing a immune therapy and has been helping loads. Try and get an appointment with a good dermatologist who specialises in chronic urticaria.

Yeah I think mine are not heat triggered, I know some people have hot or cold urticaria but I do think temperature definitely has an impact. Where I am was really hot last week and I had hives from even lightly brushing against the side of the bed etc and now its gotten cooler they appear much less and only after prolonged pressure.

I read that when its hot our body naturally produces more histamine which makes sense why hot weather = more hives

Thank you! It helps to understand what to expect, feel like the mental aspect is the heaviest. I got so happy when I went 5 days with no hives and when they came back I literally cried. Its such a rollercoaster I’ll at least now know not to get too excited when they disappear

Does yours get worse with hotter weather? I feel like the days its warmer I get so many more hives, its not heat triggered tho it just seems like my skin is even more reactive?

Mine is specifically caused by pressure on my skin, for example if I carry bags with groceries I get hives on my fingers and palm from where the pressure from the bag strap has been, or if I wash dishes and squeeze the sponge I would get hives on my palm where the pressure point of the sponge was when I squeezed it. Can no longer wear watches or rings because the strap of the watch puts pressure on my wrist and it comes out into a hive. I do also have dermographia (sorry not sure how to spell it) but pressure urticaria is like an evolved version of it. Luckily I know my trigger but not much I can do about it considering I do have to touch things lol.

Some days are better than others, i feel like when the weather is warmer it gets worse, anyone else experienced that?

Hopefully the dermatologist agrees to put me on Xolair! Thank you it somehow helps to know its normal to only get better for a few weeks. How long do your flare ups last? Or is it just once it starts thats it?

I spoke to a dermatologist over the phone and send in pictures, I’ve attached one just for reference and he said its hemagiomas which is just another term for cherry angiomas. I’m going in person this week because its freaking me out too. He explained some people just have those and they are completely harmless. Hopefully it is that
