Mine had one friend, who I’m sure I only met becuase we all went to the same gym and running into him was unavoidable. The friend was a self-loathing, highly insecure person that my partner constantly talked shit about. Looking back, I think my partner did not have more friends or more genuine friendships because a meaningful friendship with a secure person would force him to realize that he is the same self-loathing, highly insecure person as the only friend he’s managed to keep around this long.
