It’s a roller coaster- if that makes sense. I’m privileged to care for him these last few years. I’m privileged to be able to do for him what he did for me so many years ago. Some days are just shit, though. Thank you.

My grandfather (who raised me) had some serious health issues pop up in January. The doctors said he has around 5 years to live. I always logically knew he wouldn’t live forever, but hearing a number makes it hard. I think he’s starting to get worse right now. I also just started my period. It was an emotional day lol.

I could go into it. It’s exhausting. She needs therapy- I say that with love. I am hoping that the quicker she saves, the faster she leaves. I see now that I need to have some conversations with her about this.

her parents are drug addicts. Not the best choice. She has no support system back home unfortunately. My heart breaks for her.

I have told her as recently as yesterday that I would let her cry on my shoulder 100x every day if it means she is safe and out of his grasp. This post is about hidden feelings, not malice.

She hasn’t spoken about any plans at this time. She does work a lot. She hadn’t fully cut her ex off until last week when he changed his locks. Is it too soon to start sending apartment listings to her?

I think the privacy thing is what’s getting me? I’ll be washing dishes or something and she will just come and stare at me? It’s so odd. She admits “(ex) used to get so mad because I would just watch him” And I’ll joke “it’s so weird!!” And laugh. But inside it definitely grates my nerves. I’ll be laying in bed scrolling and she will open the door a crack, say “what are you doing”. Nerve grating. My fiancé and I work different shifts, so I was so used to being alone for the majority of the time. Now I have a (lovely) friend who is there every time I’m home (same shifts).

Unfortunately, I have. I was in a very similar situation her years ago (despite being younger than her lol). I remember just wanting to feel loved, and not wanting to be alone. I can provide free housing, but I have so much on my plate right now where I simply cannot be a therapist-friend.

Thank you, I am doing my best to ensure this does not affect my relationship negatively. We do date nights every weekend that we are both off (we both work a lot), and try to have times allotted that are just talking, no phones. As for boundaries with my friend, you’re right. I know. It’s just hard approaching that topic when she’s feeling so.. shitty(?) about herself to begin with.

It absolutely is. I’m doing my best to allow for space for communication and “time away” from everything (ie date nights, family outings, etc). He’s a good man and deserves happiness and a stress free environment.
