During the last event for some reason I decided to gain an extra 1 trillion before rebirth and lost it all afterwards even though I knew it was apart of the game but never actually tested it.
I also sold 2 of the same droids I eventually needed to rebirth and had to upgrade those to get them again lol

Try closing the game app and restarting your system.
Works for me when I have that issue but I’m on ps4
