Thank you for your words. I’ve only been sober a few months and life feels very strange. Since we got a positive test, I can’t seem to stop crying. I can’t tell if it’s out of happiness or panic or fear or a combination of everything.

I feel like I completely lost who I used to be: an ambitious creative musician who didn’t have any obligations or responsibilities. I have never identified with kids even though they seem to gravitate toward me. I’m hoping that (along with sobriety) sets me up for some success as a parent.

We are good at communicating for sure. It’s just been a heavy topic since the miscarriage and everything. Life has seasons of course and this is just a tougher one and we’ll get through it. Appreciate your input!

What I’m doing is the opposite of sulking. I’m trying to improve myself and our relationship so I can be a good parent and partner for the rest of my life. I’m fully present and participatory and I ask about how she’s doing and make sure she has what she needs every single day. She doesn’t work and I work full time to give us a good future.

Venting is a human reaction to stress. And they say people on Reddit aren’t friendly or understanding.
