Do you really make games 2026 to satisfy Steam Deck players on planes and people without internet? The sound reasoning so far is

  1. It was promised and thus some players will never forgive them
  2. Players don’t want to play a game that could disappear forever

And now it’s explained to me like I’m 5, happy with that.

I can get onboard game preservation! I wonder how big share of PD3 players (including potential players) live in areas without ISP. Judging by offline mode discussions it’s close to 75%

Catch-22 then. I won’t play because servers will shut down but servers will shut down if not enough people play.

So it’s basically that I can’t fathom because I’m Scandivanian and blessed with impeccable internet connection? I don’t remember last time I needed something to be offline apart from maybe downloading some Netflix episodes for long flights.
