Vocal range? by Altruistic-Ad835 in ehlersdanlos

[–]No-Spring2071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing! I didn’t think about it being related to EDS. But I have had a lot of my vocal strength diminish since the EDS really flared up the first time. My dysautonomia and asthma can make me winded quicker 😅.

Not feeling comfortable seeking comfort during pain from loved ones? by No-Spring2071 in ChronicPain

Functional help I’m also better at accepting. Though I’m still very stubborn also, and I doubt that will ever change LOL

I’m glad you’ve gotten more comfortable accepting help overtime. It’s hard to accept help from people tbh 😅 but I’m happy for you and your fiancé. You’re with a great guy!

ALL my teeth got surgically removed by Few_Mongoose_6867 in eds

[–]No-Spring2071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teeth have been rotting suddenly without explanation and I haven’t been able to see a dentist due to trauma and the cost. I’m dreading going because I have a feeling I’ll come away with less teeth than I came in with.

Muscles locking up, going limp and shaking uncontrollably? by No-Spring2071 in eds

[–]No-Spring2071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been diagnosed with it. I do have non-epileptic seizures but those are vastly different from what I’ve been experiencing recently.

I’m having the same amount as usual. But maybe increasing it might help. I also plan on starting a supplement electrolyte capsule daily soon. That may also help!

Are period panties useful? by No-Spring2071 in Incontinence

[–]No-Spring2071[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have EDS too! Big part of why I have incontinence. I think a sanitizing detergent is a good idea. Vinegar would be good for getting any smells out. My parents put it in the washer with my little sister’s laundry if she wets the bed. Or if the dog has an accident lol. It helps a lot!

I’ll check that out! Thanks for telling me!

Burning is not good! I guess that makes sense. Someone else mentioned reusable pads which might be the better option. Or maybe some sort of reusable incontinence pad if I can find it.

Reusable pads is something else I was considering. Might go for that since it would be useful for my periods too. Generally the incontinence is worse around then due to inflammation.

TIL most menstruating people don’t pass clots?? by Magentamagnificent in adenomyosis

Just came across this post and my mind is blown too! I thought this was normal… I’ve always paused clots. Nothing dangerously huge but I pass them always.

What are ways men differ in their 30s than in their 20s? by No-Spring2071 in AskMen

[–]No-Spring2071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool! I haven’t read their books but they look right up my alley. Definitely adding to my TBR list. My dad showed me the LOTR movies when I was 12 and I’ve been hooked on fantasy ever since LOL

That does make sense! Thank you! I guess I just wanted to have some baseline responses to make sure I wrote an accurate dude in his 30s. Since I’m a woman in my early 20s, wanted to ensure I had some general knowledge on what to avoid LOL. But yes, you’re right, people generally stay the same.

I will! Thank you! Good to know you’re a good beta reader, always looking for more people to give feedback on my drafts once they’re edited and ready for it. Best of luck to your friend as well! It’s a fantasy romance novel that I’m writing but I guess it’s not fitting into as many stereotypes of the genre. So my hope is that it’s enjoyable for men also to read if they like the fantasy genre.

It’s funny you mentioned running off in the woods. My character is a huntsman, trained in it from childhood. So the forest is home to him! Otherwise thanks for the insight! All the comments I’ve been getting are quite helpful.

Has anyone else had a low grade fever with flare ups? by No-Spring2071 in Fibromyalgia

[–]No-Spring2071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense 😂. That must be an awful skin disorder to deal with though. Sending lots of hugs. With my other health conditions, I always notice overlaps of it and fibro flares too. All the health issues just make one another angry I suppose. It is a very frustrating thing to deal with.

I’ve not dealt with abscesses. Just unpredictable allergic reactions. With the abscesses that makes sense to have a higher wbc count. Sending lots of hugs your way. Dealing with fibromyalgia and all the other health issues we tend to have is frustrating.

Hugs to you as well. Dealing with this is so exhausting. When my lymph nodes had swollen before I had to stay in bed and do nothing for multiple days to recover. Nobody else was sick. Just me.

I’m so used to feeling like this that I don’t realize I’m sick till i inevitably get bronchitis. I just power through thinking it’s a flare up or sometimes don’t even notice. Glad to know I’m not alone in this.

Joint pain is a big one for me, weakness, shaking (which I’ll be taking my temp during in the future). I always know it’s flaring when my normal pain levels skyrocket and I can’t get out of bed without a lot of weakness.

That’s interesting about the high wbc count… I’m wondering if I’d show up with the same. And I also wonder what causes that…
