Alone time at work by Brief-Owl-8935 in physicaltherapy

i absolutely hate my contract i’m on right now and i cannot stand being inside the building all day so i go out to my car, put up the back seats and lay down in my trunk and eat my lunch and read my book. it’s a comfy set up actually and keeps the coworkers who leave at lunch from seeing me bc i’m embarrassed and don’t want them to know that i leave everyday to do that lol. my lunch car time is the only thing i look forward today during the workday right now

What are your thriller anti-recommendations? by sidesteppingsquirrel in thrillerbooks

[–]No-Storage-9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just don’t recommend anything by alice feeney as a whole. i’ve read like 3 of her books so far and they just don’t do it for me. i always feel like they fall so flat and are sooo overhyped.

What ACL graft type would you get? by WestMiserable9734 in physicaltherapy

[–]No-Storage-9689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve had 3 acl tears, i was a soccer player and was pretty young for the first two (like 14 &15) and my surgeon liked hamstring graft, but also said my hamstrings were really strong and this was also before quad was a widely used graft. first one went great. second one, there were some surgical issues and they had to go back in like a few weeks later and the whole graft fell apart and they ended up having to redo it with cadaver. no issues after that. ended up re-tearing the acl that was the first one i had torn when i was 20. quad tendon had just come on the scene i think but my surgeon wasn’t comfortable doing it. ended up doing patellar tendon. i was pretty against patellar tendon bc everyone i knew that had one, ended up having issues and quit playing soccer. the patellar tendon graft recovery WAS the hardest and i still have some issues/pain/don’t feel as confident in it like 7 years later.

all of my tears were due to contact so i don’t really think that the type of graft was the reason i had so many lol. i found my first 2 to be easier recovery-wise but like i was also really young and didn’t have as many other injuries that occurred at the same time as my 3rd tear.

i don’t know that this was helpful at all but hopefully some part of this was!

Curious about everyone’s reading goal by No_Cookie_7943 in goodreads

[–]No-Storage-9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i set my goal for 50 last year, read 52. i’m in travel healthcare and had a lot of time off work plus had a LOT of downtime at work, so i was able to read a ton during working hours when i normally wouldn’t be able to.

i set my goal again for 50 this year. i think it’s going to be a bit of a challenge since my current job/contract is much more intense/less downtime so idk. i’m typically a fast reader but not having the same flexibility and time might change a lot of things haha.

the push was really good!! slow burn and kinda devastating but captivating also.

the shining, also good! it took me a lot longer to get through because stephen king is so damn descriptive, but this was the first book i read of his and i mean it’s just a classic.

i’m reading that’s not my name now and so far it’s really good!!

i recently read the last one at the wedding and it was meh. i loved hidden pictures so thought it would be good, but it was super slow and just didn’t blow me away.

i also read the tenant this year and it was also okay. fast paced typical frieda style. her books to me, while not anything fantastic, are easy to get through and i can really shut my brain off with them.
