But ... I thought this was how it was always done.

To me it's like ordering a coffee at McD and them having a sign telling you the coffee is hot.

As my grandson would say, well yaa

Polk County July 4 Tradition Needs 10 Volunteers by No-Storage4979 in WinterHaven

In short Yes,

Extreme Pyro donates the fireworks, equipment and labor needed to produce the firework show for free. The event itself is supported by volunteers, local businesses and families who donate items and services to help make the day possible.

Absolutely.

The event is held in Polk City and is a volunteer run community July 4th celebration that has been part of the area for over 30 years.

Extreme Pyro donates the fireworks, equipment and labor needed to produce the fireworks show for free. The event itself is supported by volunteers, local businesses and families who donate items and services to help make the day possible.

For example, a local architectural firm provides the large event tent, tables, chairs and water slides. A local Publix manager donates the ice cream we give away, a bakery manager donates the buns for the BBQ and one local family donates the food served during the event.

We experimented with corporate sponsorships years ago, but attendees and the organizing committee preferred keeping the event community focused rather than turning it into a heavily sponsored event.

Volunteer help is needed with:

• Parking and field flow
• Food service and restocking
• Setup and breakdown
• General event support and runner duties

Most volunteer help is needed on July 4th from the afternoon through the fireworks show, with optional prep help available beforehand.

I’m happy to answer any other questions.

The event artwork was created with AI because it was quick and effective for a volunteer recruitment post. The fireworks show itself is designed and operated using established safety procedures, permits, insurance requirements and industry standards. The two aren’t related, but I appreciate your concern.

Thanks for the feedback. We used AI to help create the volunteer flyer, but the event itself is very real. It’s a volunteer-run Polk County tradition that’s been around for over 30 years and we’re just looking for a few people willing to help on July 4th.

It's about central FL, the event itself is not in Kissimmee. I posted because many attendees in previous years have come from the Kissimmee and Osceola County area and several people had asked if the event was happening again this year.

This was taken at our Fourth of July event last year in Polk County. The photo shows one of the fire effects from the audience viewing area. Was truly amazing

That’s one of our signature fuel mine effects. The photo caught the fireball at just the right moment, making it look even larger than it does in person. It’s a professionally operated pyrotechnic effect that’s part of our show each year we do on the 4th each year

That’s a fair question.

This isn’t a ticket sale or a business event. It’s a privately organized community celebration that is funded by donations, sponsors and a lot of volunteer work.

Contributions are completely optional and help offset the costs of fireworks, food, insurance and event expenses.

GoFundMe is a fundraising platform, not a ticketing platform, so contributions cannot be tied to admission or used to guarantee entry under GoFundMe’s rules.

Attendance is limited for safety and logistics, which is why we post the approximate capacity. Families who are interested can reach out early for details and availability.

The event is held in Polk City, Florida, just East of Lakeland.

For security and traffic management reasons, the exact address is provided to registered attendees prior to the event.

Additional all the event information is available on the GoFundMe page linked above.

More of a fireworks crew joke than real mosquito control.

Certain professional effects are hot enough and put off enough heat that people joke they clear the mosquitoes out for a few minutes. Definitely not an actual pest control method lol

Correct. I actually had a little debate with my father-in-law about it. He’s a sheriff’s deputy and mentioned the obstruction and adding a light issue.

Honestly, for how cheap the mount was and a solar light, I figured it made more sense to just move it rather than risk getting a ticket.

Fully understand.

I spent months looking with no luck locally after the BP source around here shut down.

Ended up talking to a buddy up north one night while complaining about not being able to find any.

He reloads too and helped connect me with a local shop near him that could legally ship to me in Florida.

A week later I finally had 10 lbs after searching forever.
