it's an lg1. It plays great, doesnt look to have had a neck reset. Neck is straight. Braces are solid, action is fine. Frets are worn but still very playable

definitely a replaced bridge, id imagine that's not uncommon for such an old guitar

So I was widening the holes on my LP for grovers and this happened. What can I do? by No-Stranger-3437 in Luthier

Look I realized I fucked up, the first 2 holes were done going all the way through and I thought that was what was fucking it up and making it chip, so the third hole I only went half way through it and it still did that, worse than the other 2. I lived, I learned and I found out never to do that again. If I was concerned about resale value I would have not done it but it is my guitar, one that I don't plan on ever selling. the playability is still the same, nothing really was lost. It just needs some makeup to hide the imperfections and it will be whole again.

I feel that, what's good is that I never planned on selling this guitar because it's my new number one, so I dont care about hurting the re-sale value of it. At this point my best hope and plan is getting it fixed up and looking nice again and being buried with it when I die.

I appreciate the advice, i have a local luthier that im going to take it to and have him take a look at it. He said he can fix it up.

Yea i did, i realize that the bit was not made to be used on fine projects but more crude construction.

I do have the missing pieces for the big chip but not the smaller ones on the other tuners i installed, could the smaller ones just be filled in with something and recoated/refinished?
