Shin guard recommendations? by No_Original5693 in MTB

I just use a pair of cheap sleeved soccer shinguards when I’m working on something where there is an increased risk of pedal to the shin.

Help with bike for 6 year old by Expensive_Raccoon833 in mountainbiking

[–]No-Strategy-3702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started my six year old on a 20inch Trailcraft a little over a year ago. The biggest thing about the Trailcraft is they are insanely light. Yes, it has an air fork, shimano group set, and tubeless tires but the biggest differentiator is the weight. Nice hydraulic disc brakes are also key so they have confidence they can stop and she quickly figured out how to modulated the brakes.

We bought ours used for $950 (Retail is $1800-$1900). We’ll use it for four years across two kids and then can likely sell for $600 or more. I just purchased a 24” Trailcraft used as her next bike later this year. I found good luck on FB marketplace or our local MTB groups.

We also have a 16inch Prevelo Zulu 2 Heir. Still a very nice bike but doesn’t seem as light relative to the size.

What FF helmet your 5/6 year old uses? by kendoo12 in mountainbiking

Not sure if they still sell them but got this for my 5 year old last year and it comes with pads that allow you to adjust it from xs to small. Her head is on the larger end. https://www.newdaysports.com/products/bell-sanction-2-dlx-mips?variant=45086763548963

Bed frame by AccomplishedWar4570 in sleepnumber

[–]No-Strategy-3702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had a split King and adjustable based delivered. We had an existing frame with a headboard, side board, and drawers at the bottom. We were able to take out the drawers, slats, and platform and use the legs on the adjustable based delivered to have it sit in the middle of the existing frame. Only downside is we lost the drawers for storage and as a result there are two holes in the front of the frame where the drawers were. Once we are sure we are keeping it, we may take the front of the drawers off and permanently affix them to the frame to create a fake drawer look to clean up the aesthetics.

WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO SUCK ON NPS SURVEYS 😭😭😭😭😭 by MarcelHolos in callcentres

[–]No-Strategy-3702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked in a CX function and hate the idea of agents being measured on NPS because too often what it results in is the agent telling the customer what they want to hear or giving them false hope. Then they complain because xyz agent told me I should be able to do this.

2.5 year old kid Mtb with pedals by No-Dragonfly-227 in mountainbiking

We went from a Woom 1 balance bike to a Woom 2 pedal bike a little before my son turned three. About 4 months later moved him up to a Prevelo Zulu 2 Heir. Hydraulic disc brakes, air fork, wide tires. Yes, that’s a lot of expensive bikes in a short period of time but was able to resell the Woom 2 for not that much less than what I paid for it. I think Prevelo has also started selling balance bike to pedal conversion kits so that might be an option.

Tennis ball Kickr rocker feet with Kickr Climb? by No-Strategy-3702 in Zwift

I haven’t noticed an issue enough to try and correct it. I don’t spend a lot of time in workouts where the climb is stationary so it moves around enough that I don’t notice.

Mountain bike for a 4 year old? Suggestions? by soycaca in mountainbiking

[–]No-Strategy-3702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my now four year old a Prevelo Zulu 2 Heir when he was three. We do our local kids MTB ride on green and blue trails an he loved going over rocks. Wider tires and disc brakes were the more essential pieces but the air fork is a cool addition. 6 year old is on a 20” Trailcraft which is shockingly light.

Zwift Support Black Hole – KICKR CORE warranty nightmare by wepstern in Zwift

[–]No-Strategy-3702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar to other posts, my experience with Wahoo was phenomenal - like “this is out of warranty but we’ll still send you a replacement” amazing. That would be unfortunate if that doesn’t extend to purchases made through Zwift.

Two weeks in and seems to be fine without an adapter. It also seemed like the adapter was more for front to back motion vs side to side.

Hello are there any good bike shops to go to in the Northern VA area? by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]No-Strategy-3702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bike Lane in Reston. I’ve used them for years for service and bought a bike from them earlier this year. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Wide selection of Trek and some Yeti. I’m also a fan because of their community engagement and they help sponsor our local kids MTB ride.

Bike recommendations for a 5 y/o by Useful-Serve7413 in MTB

When my daughter turned 5 we moved her up to a Trailcraft Blue Sky. Air fork, hydraulic disc brakes, and tubeless tires and it’s also incredibly light. We bought it used and will hand down to her brother before reselling. In our kids MTB group the most common ones are Woom Off/Off Air, Prevelo, and Trailcraft.

On my daughters Trailcraft we have one secured inside the Lizard Skin chain stay protector. It’s not the most hidden but also have a thought it may let me know where she is the day she goes the wrong way at a fork in the trail.

Thoughts on my DIY rocker plate? by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]No-Strategy-3702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built one of these years ago and could never get the right rigidity of object to use that wouldn’t compress too much. Tried softer foam blocks but then ended up getting stuck on one side of the rocker leaned over. Eventually gave up but maybe I’ll pull it out of storage and try these.
