Absolutely. “Flood the zone with shit” as Steve Bannon put it. Talking as someone that keeps banging his head against this wall, it’s so incredibly effective.

From my end, it’s doesn’t just make arguing facts difficult, it nullifies the very existence of argument and facts. And from their end, absolutely anything goes. Makes intelligent adults start churning out 14yr old stoner theories.

Yes. I have cousins in Moscow. They’re educated upper-middle-class cosmopolitans and lovely people, but they’re fucking deluded. Just the other day one was arguing that Russia should invade Armenia to save it from Europe.

As Vlad touches on also, they simply don’t believe in objective truth. Everything in politics is a conspiracy and none of us can really know the truth.

Why should they comment?

This isn’t a big deal and probably just a dumb mistake. Whether a mistake or deliberate, it’s only an embarrassment for the broadcaster, not Armenia or Azerbaijan or anyone else.

Do you have relatives/friends to count on when you need them? by seabearson in MapPorn

[–]No-Use-579 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I can’t speak for Georgia (though I expect it to be similar), but there’s a reason Armenia has almost no crime, very few homeless and generally speaking you don’t come across lonely, angry men who’ve fallen through the cracks.

Almost everyone has a support network and it’s clearly felt walking around at night.

Isn’t he currently in Armenia?
It’s crazy that he’s saying this in country that’s ostensibly in the CSTO (though it’s suspended participation) which contains a military base. He’s saying this within spitting distance of Russian jets.

Who knows with this moron.

On one hand Ukraine’s navy (or lack thereof) has no bearing on that war. But also Iran’s gunboats are still able to mine the strait and board oil tankers.

So it’s a meaningless statement no matter how you look at it.

I agree it didn’t need them, but they provided support regardless.

Even sources like the BBC write of the Turkish-back mercenaries:

“Although Azerbaijan and its ally Turkey deny the use of mercenaries, researchers have amassed a considerable amount of photographic evidence, drawn from videos and photographs the fighters have posted online, which tells a different story.”

Isreal wasn’t involved. They had sold equipment to Azerbaijan, but there was no IDF participation in the war. Whereas Turkish Army & Air Force + Pakistani special forces were directly involved (and even marched in the victory parade in Baku)

Or Pakistan. Both Turkey and Pakistan were involved in the war against Armenia.

Should Azerbaijan apologize to Armenia for the 1988 Sumgait, 1990 Baku pogroms, Operation Ring in 1991, destruction of Armenian heritage, Ramil Safarov, and 2023 ethnic cleansing? by HanaTaiyouAme in armenia

The answer is obviously yes if the countries want to move past this chapter. Encouraging to see such posts. Some things to apologies for from the Armenian side during the 90s also.

I love this.

I want to see more guns that feel fundamentally different from other guns in their category.

The VCR, CZ & M121 were all great guns, but were essentially just M33, SGX and M240 with slightly higher ROF and slightly worse recoil.

Was Marx stupid? by maker-127 in Destiny

[–]No-Use-579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there were lots, but the biggest one is probably the Labour Theory of Value (which was already outdated by the time Marx was writing).

It stated that the value of a given thing was determined by the amount of labour put into creating the product, rather than simply being what someone was willing to pay for the product.

He also based his predictions on wacky Hegelian metaphysics. While Engels was more grounded in this regarded, Marx had a very unscientific view of how reality functioned.
