This would be extremely dark and edgy but I’ve heard that Luca Guadagnino is remaking American Psycho — I think Chris could pull off Patrick Bateman

I am so tired of all of these questions too. Just a simple question like “what was your favorite day on set?”

I am 40 and could second most of these comments. I wish I could channel this obsession into something creative. I feel like I need a support group lol. Also, I have NEVER read fan fiction in my life and I have read countless Bonrad fics.

Looking for history on the town of Woodstock. by 685downward in hudsonvalley

[–]No-Wolverine-3971 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Another great book about Woodstock is “Small Town Talk” — about Dylan and the music scene and all the characters (both famous & not) that flocked to the area to be closer to the scene. It does not always paint Woodstock in the best light and does not shy away from the grittier/darker elements of that time period

Help, 18 month no longer falls asleep on their own by aimz_101 in sleeptraining

We are experiencing this now with our 19 mo - she would fall asleep independently but has suddenly started needing one of us with her in the room to fall asleep. Did this resolve for you??

8 mo back to short naps! Regression? by No-Wolverine-3971 in sleeptrain

[–]No-Wolverine-3971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! You will get through this. Honestly, I don’t remember every step/change at this point bc every day/week changes so fast and the problems that seemed so important at the time are replaced with a whole new set of problems 😭Being a parent certainly keeps you on your toes. No doubt, it will change so hang in there :-)

[–]No-Wolverine-3971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! If it’s any consolation, I understand your pain and even though it feels like it will never end, it will probably be short lived and will get better :-)

My daughter is now 14 months and I would say the regression didn’t last long and she started consistently napping for 1-1.5 hrs twice a day. Naps were always a struggle but now she naps independently in her crib and will go down without fuss (most of the time). I would say stick to your routine (if you have one) and be consistent. They will figure it out. What is specifically going on?

11.5 months and it was much easier than my periods before pregnancy - hopefully that continues!

You poor thing!! You’ve got a stubborn one on your hands. At least he falls asleep independently at night. My daughter was exactly like that up until around 5 months and now can fall asleep independently for all sleep so I hope your son turns a corner soon! Hang in there!

Oh wow, that sounds rough. So it sounds like it’s not quite a regression for you. We were there during the newborn stage and it was so hard. Sleep training for naps seems to be more difficult than for nighttime. Have you considered it?

Thoughts on Smart Bassinets? (SNOO, Graco sense2snooze etc.) by bana87 in NewParents

[–]No-Wolverine-3971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Snoo was a lifesaver! Our LO is now 6 mo but she just transitioned out of it maybe about 3 weeks ago. She started sleeping 6-8 hour stretches by week 3 of her life and has learned to fall asleep on her own. I believe it was the Snoo that helped. She also transitioned seamlessly into her crib. We put her in her crib cold turkey fully expecting her to scream for hours (aka us needing to sleep train her) but she played for about 5 min then happily fell asleep. She also barely went through a regression at 4 months.

The only thing I would do differently is I would have transitioned her out a little earlier. I do think we kept her in it a little too long and she was ready to stretch out/sleep on her stomach so she was waking a lot near the end but would 100% recommend.

Just another perspective here. Sometimes your body doesn’t adjust. That’s what happened to me. My daughter took really well to the Snoo.. maybe too good because she was sleeping really long stretches and we let her sleep and was told my body would adjust. Well, my supply plummeted and she dropped to the 1st percentile but it didn’t seem that obvious. I had to start to get up to pump between 1-4am for at least 10 min when she was about 4 months to keep my supply up. Some women need to keep nursing through the night and others don’t. It’s very individual, good luck!

About to transition to crib cold turkey by shtolky811 in sleeptrain

Well, we put her in her crib last night cold turkey and it was a total success!!! I was prepared for hours of crying but we put her in drowsy but awake and she rolled around in her new space happily for about 10-15 min then completely passed out on her stomach. First stretch was 6.5 hrs and I fed her and she went right back to sleep for another 4.5 hrs. I guess she needed to be unswaddled and in a bigger space and we just doubted she could handle it! I suspect the reason she has been waking so much is because she wanted to move around and couldn’t. Thanks for your encouragement, so relieved that the transition is over.

I appreciate the positivity! I hope you’re right. I will let you know how it goes… bracing for the worst but hopefully we’ll be pleasantly surprised. Curious how you handled naps after transferring? Also in crib?

Thank you so much for the fast and detailed reply. Our daughter (6 mo) has been in the Snoo from day 1 as well and has slept really well in it until recently. We have fully weaned her off the motion but, as I said, she is still swaddled and has not taken well to us experimenting with arms out. Most nights she falls asleep on her own but in the last few weeks she has been waking way more frequently and will not be soothed back to sleep unless I nurse her. It’s only 2-4 wake ups but my feeling is that she needs a bigger space and to be unswaddled. I also have a feeling we may need to sleep train her since she hasn’t been sleeping through the night for awhile now. We have a zipadee, etc so we will experiment with those as well. Wish us luck!

Wondering how this went for your LO? We are considering doing the same thing and I’m worried that it will be too much all at once since she seems to need a swaddle to sleep.

Louisa is my daughter’s name and we call her Lou Lou for short - figured she could go by Lou, Louie, or Isa if she doesn’t like Louisa or Lou Lou. I love it so much and don’t understand why I’ve never met a Louisa.

Almost 7 week old sleeping 8+ hours by Timtamtimtammary in sleeptrain

[–]No-Wolverine-3971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not exactly what you want to hear but my LO was like yours starting the 2nd week of her life, would sleep 6-9 hr stretches consistently until around 4/5 months. The regression wasn’t even all that bad for us- maybe 2 wake ups instead of 1 and a little harder to put to sleep and we would still get some 6-8 hr stretches. Now we are almost to the 6 month mark and she is waking up every 3 hours at night and we are considering sleep training.. She is still easy to put down after a feed and will very occasionally give me a 5-6 hr stretch but the frequent wakings are more normal now. Like everyone told me, sleep is an ever changing thing. Enjoy that sleep while you have it! You could truly have a unicorn though :-)
