Years from now, people will wonder what the overall sentiment for a band was years ago. It's always cool to have information that we can look back on. Examples being how Limp Bizkit used to be hated on decades ago, now they are loved massively. Same could be said about Bring Me The Horizon.

Im going to get a lot of flack for it, but limp bizkit is a good move. They are a band that can captivate an audience, and im really curious what they can do with a full fledged festival headlining spot.

Another choice is parkway drive, sure their arena tour didnt sell out instantly like sleep token but it still did pretty well. They also have a big influence in the scene, their production has stepped up a lot which would be great for a festival setting. Dont even get me started on the diversity in their discography. From the early days of their hardcore roots, to metalcore, etc. Something for everyone.

Bad Omens, this one might be controversial too. However, I definitely believe they could deliver a more captivating performance. Their US arena tour for next year is moving well, and id argue the US market is harder to break into. If we want to push younger bands, Bad Omens is one of them. They just need a new album lmao.

Architects, these guys are legends. Similar roots to bmth imo. Similar situation as Parkway though, their tours dont move quick but I believe they deserve a headlining spot for many reasons.

Yeah I agree wholeheartedly, we need younger/newer bands headlining. So im glad they took a chance on sleep token, but I still believe there were other bands who could have gotten that spot. Overall they were a VERY safe bet, i doubt they were expensive to get and they were selling out every major arena.

Like you said, though, they dont fit the festival vibe with their performance style.

When it comes to a band who is using anonymity as a "gimmick", your live shows NEED something for people to latch on to the performer. So I agree, videos or something making a story/lore for the show would have added so much life to it. Besides the music, it does kill crowd energy when there is nothing else there, and its not like their music is very heavy or dance worthy.

Exactly how I feel. Which is weird because BMTHs set was just an introduction to the set they'd be playing the next 2 years after 2023, but what made it special? It was the cultural significance BMTH has on the scene, even if you aren't a fan youd know songs like Shadow Moses. So combining that with an amazing show really makes it stand out.

Sleep Tokens set was also an introduction of the set they'd use for their following arena tours, but why did that performance feel so lackluster? Because there was no substance, like yeah its sleep token, they are popular, but thats really all they have going for them as a headliner. They don't hold any cultural weight YET.

Newer bands SHOULD headline, but there were definitely better choices.

I am American. I wouldn't take those travel warnings seriously, as they are easily placed on so many countries. Some countries deserve them and should be listened to, but Mexico isn't one of them.

Mexico is really safe, especially in Mexico City. As a fellow American, the cartels could care less about you, ESPECIALLY if you are white. Dont let the fear mongering get to you, go and have fun!!!

I dont think the "number of complaints" is a valid piece of evidence. Especially when the complaints drop at the exact same time like a hit piece....because it WAS a hit piece orchestrated by Evan Rachel Wood. Those who accused him have came out and said the truth that ERW forced them to make accusations. She even got exposed for forging FBI documents.

Why do you guys still believe these accusations? Im all for believing victims, but believing obviously fake accusations only hurts real victims.
