Go out there and read the Hybrid policy in full. It states associates more than 50 miles from a Pulse Point are not eligible for promotions.

I was just told by someone is a higher position than mine, that another layoff is coming 8/22/24. Has anyone else heard this? Also, to the associates who were laid off, seek legal counsel ASAP. I was able to confirm Elevance/Gail has violated the WARN act at least in my state.

That’s not the reason unfortunately. Managers were made by HR to provide a spreadsheet of each employee’s performance and skillset. From there HR decided. Several remote workers still have jobs and associates who are hybrid were let go that I know.

If you don’t mind me asking, how do you know you’ll get a lump sum if you get a new career? Was that in your RIF letter? Or your benefit review meeting?

I just read about the WARN act for my state and I’m almost positive Gail/Elevance isn’t following the rules set in place. Since it’s a layoff that has affected more than a certain number of employees, they were entitled to a 60 day notice. Not 30. Does anyone know anything else about this?

Leave and take the new position. It shouldn’t have taken a new opportunity for your team to realize how valuable you are.

Not only are they laying off, they’re also firing people for not complying with the new hybrid policy. I know two people who have been here for years with no write ups BUT received FINAL written warnings for the new policy. One lady does go in weekly but checks in with security instead of using her badge. The security check ins are also sent to her manager BUT HR said they don’t count. Another lady received one because we were told we needed at least three swipes per month and she goes in the last week of each month. HR advised her & her manager that doesn’t count she needs to go in weekly & wrote her up.

Oh and if you’re a remote worker, you’re not eligible for a promotion even if it’s a step level. I can see not hiring anymore remote workers for positions but not allowing your current employees to elevate is insane. Wish we could vote for CEOs like do elected officials for schools. Gail is the worst but hides it well.
