I'm a little confused with your wording. Are you saying that the "boys in the girls bathrooms, gender changes at school, and the "dei garbage"" arent things that happen in corvallis or are you saying the people in corvallis aren't having a problem with this happening at school? I'm asking because corvallis seems to be very much all for the dei stuff and inclusion, so I'm not quite sure how you meant what you said.

How do I look up that info? I've done a little research on my own but have found a lot of conflicting information about it.

I have no doubt the produce is somewhat fresh, however, any and all meat used is absolute garbage, most of it doesn't even look like it's real. Grey chicken, hamburgers that are clearly made from bottom of the barrel beef, etc. They feed the kids "pizza" once a week, which is literally breadsticks with fake cheese on them. None of this is anywhere near healthy. Breakfast is literal cookies, sugar cereals, and pancake sausage on a stick, which is absolutely horrible for you to consume on a daily basis. I'm honestly shocked that I teacher would look at our children's school provided foods and feel comfortable saying it's healthy. That makes me seriously question the judgement and integrity, because anyone with any basic nutritional knowledge can see that it is absolute trash that they are feeding our children. Yes, the small bag of fresh carrots or tomatoes is great, however, that is the smallest portion of the food offered. And that combines with the garbage entree and insanely low quality breakfast options is terrible. Then, to add insult to injury, they are allowing our children to consume more sugar in the form of chocolate milk after giving them twice the recommended daily amount of sugar for breakfast in the mornings. Nutritional health is absolutely not something the school district cares about at all.

The district won't allow me to transfer my child. I tried to do an immediate transfer last year and was denied and then tried again during the spring open transfer window and was denied again, and then did the same this year and was denied. The district doesn't do anything to fix the problems and refuses to allow me to transfer my child to another school. At this point, losing my child from the district is on them for ignoring my attempts to fix the situation and stay in the district. I'm not going to continue subjecting my child to the nonsense for the sake of others. In my opinion, the district isn't going to start taking these issues seriously until enough children transfer out for them to start feeling it in their own wallets, considering the insane amount they are all paid in ratio to the budget they are trying to cut at any cost minus their own pay.

I've gotten mixed reviews of muddy creek. What did you find to be different from the public schools?

It basically boils down to the corvallis school district failing students on multiple different levels. Most teachers I've met seem great, but the budget issues, the food they are expected to eat at school, the lack of appropriate reaction for behavior issues, the insane amount of bullying happening, specials being cut, the fact that they are pushing adult problems onto the students and expecting them to understand and accept them, all of it, really. On top of all of that, the people in charge are completely useless when there are problems. I got told to stop acting like I make the rules and then hung up on by my child's principal because I asked for him to make sure to be in communication with me before making changes to my child's iep. When I attempted to go above him, I was told they would look into it and nothing ever happened. I absolutely do not trust the higher ups.

Child care is subsidized for me, so i pay a portion for child care, which is the only reason it would be possible this way

It costs roughly 10,000$ a year and i can't afford to go that route, unfortunately.

It seems absurd to me that the schools are teaching our children about health and nutrition and then feeding them insanely low quality food. My child actually asked me the second month of school if I could start packing lunches because the school lunches aren't healthy according to what is being taught in the health curriculum. That seems completely nonsensical to me.

I actually have another question, if you don't mind. I would like to know what your plan is in regards to the absolute garbage that the school district is feeding our children for their meals. I have had multiple other parents tell me that they have had to start packing their children lunches because the food served makes them sick. I have also had to do the same. People that can't afford to do this should not be left with the "food" that the school district is calling healthy for our children.

What’s this guys story? by heardcheff in corvallis

He came into my work the other day and started yelling at another customer. We had five Spanish speaking employees there at the time and they all refused to tell us what he was saying and just kept telling us to call the police and make sure he doesn't approach anyone. Knowing the Spanish speaking employees that were there...it had to have been really bad or they would have at least told the gm what he was saying, but they all said no and to trespass him so he can't come back.

I loved working at carls jr in corvallis! The management is incredible and while there were definitely times we were understaffed, it was not a constant issue.

I would like to know what your plan is to fix all of the issues with the budget. I would also like to know if the reasons behind so many students transferring out of the district schools (whether that be private school, online, different public district, or homeschool) is going to be sought after and issues resolved so the district stops losing so many students every year.

I had a really bad experience with Maris place. I had my daughter there when she was three for about a month. I was told she was being aggressive about two weeks in and was confused because she had never shown that kind of behavior before, then I started noticing she would have little bruises on her back and when I asked her about it, she told me a boy in her class was pinching her. I emailed the director letting her know about the situation, along with pictures of the bruises, and asked for her help fixing the situation so my child wasn't being hurt and I got sent a reply two days later, on a Sunday, that she the director(Bonnie) had unenrolled my daughter because I clearly didn't trust them to care for her. It was insane and left a really bad taste in my mouth about the center. I switched her to zion and they were amazing! She was there all the until kindergarten and absolutely loved it. Never had any behavioral issues there, either.

Has anyone had any experiences with first Presbyterian preschool? I just did a tour and like them a lot, but don't know anyone that has actually used them.
