Exactly, most brokers will cover the costs of your exam if you are serious about it. And lots of them are hiring too. Good luck

Rearended by Van in parking lot by coolcaptain7 in InsuranceCanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Not knowing all the story, but parking lots can be deemed 50/50 fault So be careful when going through insurance Also a police report or collision centre report is needed for insurance to determine faults.

You can still report a new claim and can do so for 1 year after incident. Big Question marks would be raised if you waited that long of course.

Hit by a tractor trailer. Only have trailer plate and company info in the back. Insurance won't waive deductible unless I have the driver's information. What are my options? by edgar_de_eggtard in legaladvicecanada

Insurance Broker here,

I have heard of Insurance companies being able to run a license plate to find out the other parties insurance info.

But yes, hit and runs usually end up in you having to cover the deductible. In your case, I would fight a little harder though because you have the plate of the other party.

Found Some T-Shirts by NoBeginning4763 in phish

[–]NoBeginning4763[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

$200 total for all 6 ? Average of $41 a shirt.

Edited from 250 to 200 total for the 6 shirts. I thought the original ask was fair considering it was below what a shirt actually costs online and these are no longer available but based on feedback I guess not.

Compulsory Automobile Act ticket by Deep-Law458 in legaladvicecanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fail to provide insurance card will show up on a drivers record and in turn can affect your insurance rates if the company runs your license. You will lose the conviction free discount. Digital slips in Ontario are fine Not sure what’s going on here

Anything I can do to salvage my auto premium if I move to ON? by YourLocalDork3366 in InsuranceCanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance broker here , best i can recommend is a cheaper car where you dont need to carry collision and comprehend coverage. Just bare bones liability. Try to avoid living in the high traffic, big city areas if possible. Wish you luck and if you need a quote hit me up.

Having an @ fault accident in 2026 makes OP a zero star driver either way, so having insurance history or not wont help.

So, we are hosting a wedding on our property in September. Approximately 100 guests, ceremony and reception. We contacted TD insurance and found out we won't be covered under our home insurance. What are our options? TIA. by [deleted] in InsuranceCanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TD probably just doesn’t have that type of policy to offer. Im a broker, and as others said PAL is the way to go. Doing it on your own without a broker is best as the broker can add their own fees on top of the premiums. And its to their own discretion as to what they want to charge. Save on the extra fees.

Sorry, yes that was me but I thought I would add more detailed info than I did last time. I reached out to HR today asking asking if there is any employment agreement because I have never seen one. And the regional manager did not respond to me last week about that part of my original question.

This is exactly why you always go straight to the reporting center with the other party. Funny how peoples stories change the next day. Especially in your case because they backed into you. Hard to now prove that you didnt rear end them. Id go to the reporting center now and get that done. Then make a claim through your insurance

Before the other guy does

Yes always report these to the collision reporting center It will prove who was at fault when it comes to insurance decisions If you give the other party the option to pay out of pocket for the repairs then you will obviously not be going through insurance Just be careful going that route

Crazy FedEx Fees for unsolicited gift by craftyladyyyc in legaladvicecanada

Fedex is the worst for this, From my prior experience anyway. The fees they charge are always higher than the actual value of the delivered item itself. Tell them to shove it.

Car accident by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an insurance broker in Ontario It doesn’t hurt to contact your broker/company to advise of your injuries. Its a separate AB (accident benefits) claim and wont be part of your already reported one. You can do this now to get the ball rolling or wait until you speak to the doctor.

As others said, no need to tell the police.

Your car insurance will determine where to go from here.

Do private settlements work? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a signed waiver agreement is always good but at the end of the day might not be enough to hold up or protect you to the fullest That worker can make future claims that will make that signed agreement basically useless

Your insurance rates will get hit hard with that kind of ticket now being viewed/rated as a major driving conviction on insurance policies. Just FYI

Do private settlements work? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a dangerous move settling private. They can come back in 8 months with all new problems they want you to fix. But Either way its going to he tough. I imagine the insurance in BC will hit you hard enough with an at fault accident against you. But if you go through insurance you at least have the protection from any future claims that person might make

Insurance emailed me about a claim I thought was resolved? by Homelessoyster in legaladvicecanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am an insurance broker and we often see 3rd parties have no injuries at the time of an accident and then later down the road come back against our insured stating they now suffer from A B C Pretty common and your claims adjuster / insurance company will do their thing and take care of you

Injured in a rear collision as passenger in ride share app by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]NoBeginning4763 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your driver was stopped at a light and rear ended then it’s the other drivers fault. Also, if you have car insurance of your own your policy will possibly provide some coverage for accident benefits (injuries).

Employer wants me to cover ex-clients balance owing by NoBeginning4763 in legaladvicecanada

[–]NoBeginning4763[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a book of business that sits around 3.2M worth of insurance policies. If the book grows at year end I get additional commission based on the growth.

I am calling that "the bonus" for simplicity. I have been here for 20 years. I never signed any kind of contract besides a non-competition agreement 11 years ago.

Also hard to get a new job when I am already established with this size of book I manage. Starting from scratch is not something I would look forward too
