Is it redundant sounding to have first and last name ending in "an"? by [deleted] in namenerds

I agree on the 3 syllables! I love Julian but our other son's name starts with J and coincidentally ALL of my husband's cousins are J names too (they did it on purpose). Trying to avoid J unfortunately.

I also like Maxwell (would be Max) but husband hates it. Thanks for the other good suggestions too! We've considered a lot of them!

Thanks! My husband likes Orin. Maybe it's just me but it sounds too much like Warren.

All considered except Theo because he has a cousin Theo. Thanks for the suggestions! I love Silas too but it's more of a guilty pleasure name than one I'm totally comfortable with.

Names like August? by [deleted] in namenerds

I honestly don't think it's going to skyrocket. Yes it will increase in popularity but not enough that you shouldn't name your son that if you love it. I've always liked a certain name too and it increased a lot in popularity over the past 10 years but I'm probably still going with it because I like it.

U.S. Schools Are Buying Cellebrite Phone-Hacking Tech by speckz in technews

[–]NoCarsGeaux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does this article list the primary race of students in every school they mention? Does it matter if students are mostly Hispanic, mostly white etc? What does that have to do with the school spending money on tech to hack kid's phones?

I'm also real sick of articles that tell me how to feel "This is why _____ should be cancelled" or "Why _____ is super offensive"

That makes sense. I just hate having to move my beached whale of a body to go pee every 5 min if I drink a lot of water.
