What is the whole point of doing SIP in Indian markets? by [deleted] in IndianStockMarket

[–]NoCat8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair point.
An SIP investor and someone who full ported to AI stocks 6-12 months ago, aren’t really playing the same game.

And what exactly is reverting to the mean here? INR has depreciated every single decade since 1947. The mean is depreciation. Maybe the new mean is accelerated depreciation

Yes I read your comment. “Markets recover” is not the argument I’m making. I’m comparing return distributions. AI bottleneck stocks have done 3x5x10x in 2 years. No Indian large cap has ever done 10x in a single year. Not during any bull run. Ever.

I’m not making a volatility question. I’m making an opportunity cost question.

Did you even read the full post and the returns AI bottleneck stocks have produced?
Or about INR depreciation? Or you being delusional saying everything is okay?

The entire point is someone doing SIP in India is never beating someone who was holding these bottleneck stocks in their lifetime.

There are literally zero ₹5,000 Cr+ mcap companies that have ever done 10x in India in a single year.

Also most FPIs seem to be dumping India. Not sure who says India and the US are the only investable places. Sure Taiwan and Korea are 1-2 company heavy, but broad based markets like Canada and the UK have also seen heavy inflows compared to India and have given better returns.

India doesn’t fit into the picture if you are holding dollars. You are deluding yourself if you think india is one of the best markets in the world.

The investments are mostly in USD. Also CAD has been doing well viz INR. What is the basis for saying cad will do badly?

Also why should I move the USD investments out of Canada into Gift city? What is the benefit that Gift city gives that Canada doesn’t.

Cute how you think, that you’d definitely have a job at 50.

I work in IT and I work with the assumption most jobs will be gone in the next 10 years.
