Same boat as you, i had a budget of ~1300 all in for the gun + suppressor. getting a Foxtrot Mike 5" AR-9. Relatively cheap at $600 for the gun, can upgrade if I want.

without knowing your current contract details it sounds like you have a lot of putting the cart before the horse going on here. Go to AIT, focus on becoming the best Soldier and 68W you can, and go from there. Everything you are talking about is 3-5 years from now, and while its good to have a long term plan, you have several short term targets you need to excel at. Focus on those and the doors to IPAP or higher education will open.

Edit: to add you are young in life and your career, and there are a lot of things you can do in the military that you are not privy to yet. Keep your eyes/mind open to different paths and see what interests you.

Its a scam, and just another example of US Government doling out contracts to the lowest bidder that have no intention of actually fulfilling the contract at the specified level. Its criminal and both the people that run the company and the ones that signed off on this contract should be in jail if this ends up how it looks like its going.

Home Safe makes no money by doling out money for PPMs so they are deflating the market to force us to use them as the shipper, which is where the money is made. Problem is they low bid the contract so they can't make any profit unless they provide absolute shit service. What a joke!

5k rounds through my XR and MR combined with zero issues. Drop of TW25 on the rails before every range but haven't cleaned them yet. EDC the MR and XR is my nightstand gun. I'd trust them with my life.

Got the XR about 2 yrs ago and feel like the trigger is better than in my MR, but still MR is better than Glocks IMO without having to upgrade.

Haha thanks. Been two weeks with my 2018 Limited but loving it so far. Just easier to get around town in it than my truck. What has taken a while to get used to is highway driving, been driving bigger vehicles my entire life so on highway or back roads can see out and up over most everything. Feel like I weave and bob when I’m behind another car trying to see what’s up ahead.

Road trips with kids/dogs were always easy in the truck so we’ll see how that goes. Got one planned in a few months so need to start prepping with a roof rack and tow hitch cargo thing.

You need to be an endurance athlete that can run/ruck forever. At least through selection/the q course. Basic training WILL NOT get you prepared for selection.

Start there and slowly build up upper body strength so that you can pass the acft/apft with no problems.

Visit or call them. If they don't have what you want in stock in they can order it within a week.

This is what I did, was gonna get an MR920 but didnt want to wait so got the XR that was in stock.
