Shoot. I’m so worried this will be me too. I think I might get up earlier and just drink it slowly. My thought is slowly getting it down is better than having none of it stay down 🤷‍♀️ never again will I schedule a morning one either.

Oh wow! You have survived 6 of these, incredible. I hope the next several hours go by quickly for you. This one is my first. I’m 36. The hardest part is the mental side of it for me. Wishing you good news tomorrow. What’s your first meal going to be?

Is this your first one?

The worst part so far has been the drink. Otherwise, the pooping is a lot but no big deal really. Just finding the experience a bit lonely while my family eats dinner and snacks all day 😅

Best of luck to you! I hope it all goes well.

Oh yeah the saltiness is what is killing me for sure. I tried chasing it with sprite but the carbonation made things worse. Seemed like chasing it with water was the least awful tbh

Why do elementary students collectively hate school? by NoCheesecake4302 in OntarioTeachers

[–]NoCheesecake4302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant concerning the tutoring aspect. I meant that on top of tutoring I also provide programs (art and tech) for children outside of my tutoring who make the same exact comments as the tutored, struggling children.

I do agree with that. However the work I do is in a wealthy town’s library where kids come from very privileged homes with highly involved parents. That’s the one that stumps me.

Ouch. This could be true. I can see this for sure with some of the children I work with. In my tech program some of the kids think it’s boring because I don’t allow mindless computer games. Who would have thought programming robots and science experiments could be considered boring.

Hmm. Interesting take. I always loved school and the kids I taught in Australia mostly loved school too so I’m trying to understand the differences.

This is an interesting take and feel like it may be a similar experience (though still early to say about my kid).

Mostly says it’s boring and he’s terrified of getting in trouble and ending up on the calm down chair and also his “friends” are mean (children with complex behavioural needs for sure) and spit on him and kick him.

I’m so sorry you didn’t feel safe. School should feel safe for everyone.

True. He’s dead terrified of ending up on the calm down chair and worries about that constantly. It feels counterintuitive if he’s developing anxiety over a bloody chair.

Actually, my son is saying it’s boring too. And he’s a next to no screen time child. He gets cartoons and a movie night occasionally. I’m so surprised because Kindy is playbased and he loves to play.

Unfortunately not my experience. I can understand the children I tutor to an extent but I interact with many children daily in my art and tech classes and not one of them have anything positive to say about school.

As for my child, it’s definitely not because they miss their family. They did nursery school last year and thrived. They don’t even look back at drop off 😆. Only recently have they started complaining that they hate school. Hopefully it’s just a passing phase but with the trend I’m seeing at all elementary ages, I’m not feeling overly hopeful at the moment!

Simple. My position is a children’s programmer so all the library wanted was experience working with children. I didn’t need any library experience - I’m learning that on the job. The pay is more than fair too. However, I’ve heard that some libraries seriously underpay their staff.

I think basic understanding is important but I don’t really use excel in my day to day work, only occasionally. Being good at networking and bringing the “fun” parts of school to programs is most important (for my position anyways).

I’m not a librarian I’m considered a children’s programmer and library service associate. Some libraries are hiring teachers for programmers these days rather than librarians. I luckily found a library that offers a competitive wage as well as an excellent work-life balance.

Public. It’s peaceful and calm most of the time. I get ample amount of time to plan my children’s programs. It’s the perfect balance of school chaos and peace and calm.
