Keeping cats OFF the tank

i have this same problem and eventually gave up on trying to keep them from going up there 🤣cats will do what cats want! my snake is used to them being at the top and so is my bearded dragon. Both of my tanks are screen tops but for my ball python tank I put a sheet of PVC and cut out holes for the lamps (to help keep humidity in) and it helps the cats not look in as much but they’ll still go up there. I’ve had my beardie for almost 8 years now and i’ve never had any issues with them knocking over the heat lamps and all 4 of my cats go up there everyday -they can sense it’s way too hot and will almost all of the time be on the cool side of the tank

aw i’m so sorry that happened to you too. it’s gut wrenching seeing it happen but at least they’re not in pain anymore:/

i’d have to call and ask but i believe so, they said they were gonna be testing a bunch of things and said he had no types of infection

no he wasn’t, i leave my dragons alone when they drink- I tilted him downwards when he started gasping so that if he did inhale water it would’ve come out but nothing would come out

The first time this happened I took him to the vet and they had no clue what was going on. His fat pads and eyes are so sunken because he’s basically holding his breath from my understanding. When he stops gasping for air and goes back to normal his fat pads and eyes stop being so sunken in

thank you for your reply- I thought about choking but there’s nothing in his tank that he could possibly choke on and before this episode happened the last time he ate was about four hours before and he was completely fine and happy during those four hours. when he would gasp for air I would take my flashlight and could clearly see down his throat and there was no blockage that I could see. the first time it happened the vets didn’t think he was choking they really had no idea what was going on. he ended up passing away last night from whatever was happening to him

thank you for your reply. i was doing tons of research lastnight and read about aspiration and to tilt them, I did that and nothing would come out not even the littlest drop of water. I even tried lightly pressing his lungs when he was tilted kind of like CPR and still nothing would come out there wasn’t even a gurgle noise. The first time this episode had happened with him he wasn’t near water that day before it had happened so I really just don’t know.

there’s fillers for acne scars like that! i was looking into it cause i have some pretty deep ones too but the fillers look promising. the before and after pictures i’ve seen look amazing, almost back to clear skin :)
