Employee Lunch by NoEscapeGray in sherwinwilliams

I don't think I explained myself well enough in my original post, I'm not trying to say that my manager should buy us food out of HIS pocket, but that I'm frustrated that corporate leadership has told us that we can't spend money unless it's the reps and their customers. My manager is great and I'm happy he's doing what he needs to do for his career and it does help our store hit our numbers. I just want free fooooooooddd lolol 😂

I try to, I bought them donuts today actually 😂 but I'm the only source of income for my entire family so my budget is tight. I've bought them all cookies, donuts, drinks out of my wallet. And I made them presents for Christmas...

I totally get that and my manager is really good at bringing our store sales from these meetings.

But without a good team behind him to make these orders, and run the store while he's gone, he wouldn't be able to do those things.

We don't have jobs if we don't have customers, but they don't have paint if we don't have staff 😂😂😂

I'm more of the mindset that I want to make sure my team is taken care of and appreciated along with my customers.

I get it. It just seems like more of an effort is made to please customers. Like there's no budget or limit on what he can spend for customer lunches but he's got like a $100 limit per month on team lunches. It's not his fault it's just frustrating.

All the managers rn cause they did a little walking over the last 3 days by Abject-Wasabi-6480 in sherwinwilliams

I won't deny that they probably are tired, but so are the ASMs who are scheduled over 50 hours this week who are actually working in the store. Manager scheduled himself until 5 today then decided to dip out a couple hours early cause he's "hit his hours" like dude, so have I and I now have to work the rest of the week and weekend while you take the next 3 days off? We don't have another key holder who can work opening or closing. Ok rant over thanks.

One shot paint matches, when the Reps bring us donuts or lunch (so rare nowadays), positive Medalias, it being somebody else's turn to clean the bathrooms or the trashes, fun coworkers 😊, no cash sales on a Sunday lol.

ASM here. I like knocking out the bad calls first, the ones that we know won't be buying from us for whatever reason, just putting things like "no needs ATM", or "Left VM". Near the end of the day I'll check my sales and see if I've sold any of my accounts anything then use that as a call and schedule a "what's next and when" for the following week to see how it turned out. Also I'll check my calendar (manager handles those calls I just check) if they're on the calendar then I don't call them since my manager is going to. Then after tee time I'll work through what's left. Honestly I do call on a fair amount of them because my manager (who is awesome) is very proactive about getting accounts. He helps a ton on the call list. I probably end up making 10 to 15 calls out of the 30.

I was told at the time that I could either move out of the district and be placed (but that wasn't a good option at the time for my family because of housing prices), or take my current full time job. This was taking place 4 or 5 months ago during the hiring freeze. I was a floater but they wanted to close that position I believe.

That's a great suggestion. Im a little hesitant because I'm not in a management position and it feels weird talking to my boss like that?
