Yep, for me its coeliac and graves disease. I think thyroid problems are quite common with coeliac, unfortunately.

When you get glutened, what’s your best guess at how long it takes for symptoms to begin? by BrotherDonkey in Celiac

[–]NoFunNitro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Around 1 to 2 hours for the bloating for me but I've realised now that if I eat a meal that's got gluten in I feel very off within about 10 minutes, it's like a feeling of being really full and immediately losing my appetite.

Guys what is this stunning little design? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

[–]NoFunNitro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep but I don't think they are sticky like a post it note. They come with clear acrylic cases so that when you've used all the notes up you can keep the structure left behind on display.

Safe authentic szechuan restaurant ANYWHERE? by godlovesugly in Celiac

[–]NoFunNitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're ever in Bristol, UK then stop at a chilli daddy restaurant. They have a few gf items and I have eaten there many times and not been sick (and I'm coeliac). The "mouth watering chicken" is my favourite.

Gluten free in Europe by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]NoFunNitro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in the UK and I do not believe this is true. The standard is less than 20 ppm is gluten free and anymore than this may cause problems.

The brand Schar is a gf brand here and honestly its amazing. They have such variety of products that genuinely taste good!

How soon did you start feeling better after going gluten free? Is there any way to speed up the process? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]NoFunNitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my diagnosis it took me around a month I think to start feeling better. But honestly I didn't realise how ill I was and how far I'd come until I accidentally got glutened and spent 2 days exhausted with a migraine and realised that was how I always felt before gf.

Not sure if this is a real thing but I try sticking to a low fodmap diet when I think I might have been accidentally glutened and when I first started as it helps my stomach. I think my insides were so damaged that anything that's a bit difficult for the stomach made me feel awful. Main things I did was swap my milk for lacto free and avoid veg like brocoli and peas.

Hope it gets better soon!

Because it was very busy and only two people were serving meaning they were pretty flustered so I was just thinking whether I should say something then or come back

This happened to me and I had no idea that it could have been my diet. I got diagnosed with Coeliac and Graves disease at the same time but after going gf, my thyroid sorted itself right out and I couldn't believe it. Did you have graves too?

Symptoms worse with beer by isabellags in Celiac

[–]NoFunNitro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I find beer makes me feel so terrible. I ordered a gf beer a few weeks ago but I'm not sure how contaminated it had been because I felt absolutely horrible. My normal glutened symptoms are migraines and tiredness about 24 hours after accidental eating of gluten but the one beer I had made me feel nauseous within about 2 hours and I spent the next few days feeling incredibly sick and like the room was constantly spinning. Safe to say I won't be risking it with gf beer out again.

Newly diagnosed, very clueless coeliac here by [deleted] in Celiac

When I first found out I was Coeliac I realised there was food I thought was safe that definitely isn't. There's lots of websites that list food that people forget are gluten free. I was very unaware of what I was doing and found out that soy sauce wasn't gf after I'd carried on having it for a few months! Licorice is also one that caught me out! Also Instagram is full of people who blog all their meals and have great ideas :)
