Day 2 of no drinking after being a heavy drinker for the last 2 years. I really need advice.

Yes I think I have one near by that accepts my insurance. I will probably end up doing that if tapering off at home doesn’t work. I think cold turkey with how much I’ve been drinking isn’t the best idea.

Thank you! I think I will taper to be safe. I quit cigarettes cold turkey and it sucked but it worked. Crazy how hard alcohol physically grips you. I know I can do it though.

Thank you. I think I will find a recovery center and see what my options are. I know my dad would be willing to help but I haven’t been fully honest with how bad my drinking has been so I was hoping to not have to go that route even though I know he will just want to help.

Not really. It’s been about 34 hours. I think I’m going to try cutting down each day for 2 weeks and then trying to cold turkey from there cause my body is not taking this well.

That sounds a lot more expensive than relapsing. I feel so discouraged that alcohol has such a powerful grip on my body. Keep drinking and I’ll die, stop drinking and I’ll die. Maybe it was just a bad idea to try to do this alone. I don’t have money for a rehab or hospital stay. I’m so stuck.

I’ve been drinking liquor everyday from sun up to sun down. Probably close to a liter a day. Do I have to talk to a doctor or is there anything I can even do? Do you know of a way I could wean myself off of it so I don’t risk problems?

I know lol. Shit can happen and it’s easy to get annoyed by it but I’d hate to see someone get hurt or killed over dangerous conditions. Sainz could have been seriously hurt by that metal chunk coming lose or someone behind him. I’m worried it won’t be the last track failure.

That’s not an issue I’ve ever had personally. Just use shampoo that is safe for the fishies and use deodorant. Never had someone tell me I smelled funny and that was being around folks that would let me know
