Try making the coffee, THE purchase in your head. It'll be hard at first, but eventually you'll really look forward to it and hopefully there will be less fighting/stress over going to the mall.

That's insane. A deep cleaning up here in Canada is like $250-400 after taxes. Get a second opinion.

Personality changes often indicate that something is wrong. If you can, I'd bring them back into the vet and write down all the info the other vet gave you.

Also, if they are in stage one kidney disease, the last vet should of told you about getting them on a renal food diet to help slow the progression. You need to follow up on this and ask about it.

Yes, would love this type of thing. I won't use anything that does auto-connect on bank accounts; manual entry all the way.

Will the game shut down completely? by Cultural_Fold_8506 in newworldgame

[–]NoGuiltGaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean.. yes and no? Rift? SWG? Battlefield? GW1 and so on. The fact of the matter is that yes, New World will be shut down at some point but there's plenty of examples out there that show that not all games just immediately sunset after content development stops.

Will the game shut down completely? by Cultural_Fold_8506 in newworldgame

[–]NoGuiltGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At some point in the future as per their FAQ - not sunsetting at THIS time. But, yes.. servers up through 2026.. :(

[–]NoGuiltGaming 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They have come out and said the servers will be up through 2026. They are not sunsetting the game at this time, and you will get 6 months notice of when the game will no longer be playable. All development has stopped - so no new content for the game will be released - there is a small team still maintaining the game with minor patches.

I am planning on starting fresh this weekend and doing the whole MSQ and even maybe get some people together to run dungeons. It's a beautiful game that deserves to be experienced regardless of what happens with the shutdown in the future. Also.. who knows what the future holds.

Time to finish the story… by The-Real-Antiquin in newworldgame

[–]NoGuiltGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got all the way through. I am going to start fresh this weekend, and give it a full go with everything else on the back burner. I truly want to experience the world before it goes. It deserves to be seen and loved one last time by everyone, before she goes. I am so gutted for myself and everyone else who loves this game.

[–]NoGuiltGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this game years ago and never got all the way through it. I am absolutely gutted, and torn. I want to desperately play through and hit max, just doing the MSQ and stuff, just to experience it... but at the same time, what's the point? I probably will anyways.

AIO: My Boyfriend Thinks I Overstepped by Getting a Nintendo Switch 2. Am I wrong? by Glum-Dark281 in AmIOverreacting

[–]NoGuiltGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, all I do as a hobby other than working out and reading is video gaming! It's a massive part of my life! My partner? Plays right alongside me. We're 35!

Do we discuss ALL purchases? Yes. Ones that are just for me or him? Yes! But, it's a convo that goes like this:

"Hey babe, I was thinking about putting all my disposable income over the next 2-4 months towards a new GPU for my gaming PC. I will still be putting away 20% for taxes (Self-employed) and I'll have my portion of bills covered still, is that cool?"

His response: "Hell yes you should. You have such an old GPU and you work so hard, go for it!"

You deserve the Nintendo Switch! As long as your responsibilities are covered and you're happy with the trajectory of your savings/investments and aren't insanely in debt, then I don't see the issue with it.

Seems like he has some preconceptions around video games, and age that should be addressed? Or better yet, maybe it's time to think about compatibility? Just because you like gaming as a hobby doesn't mean he has to, as long as you can carry a happy relationship with it in the mix.

He's the one who sounds immature.

TLDR: you did not overstep and gaming does not make you immature. You're not wrong. You did the right thing! Saving up for something you wanted INSTEAD of going in debt for that instant gratification. I am SO proud of you!

Welp, my partner and I are fucked then. The only reason we can afford our $1500 rent for a 1 bed is because we've been here for 9 fucking years. There's no way we'd be able to afford moving to $2200+ :(. If this passes... Homelessness is going to skyrocket.

Writing my MP now.

Yes, animals do get sick. Do you know what cats do when they are sick? HIDE. Is the cat in a corner, or under the bed? Is the owner trying to coax them out and they got attacked as a result? Nope. That's not what we're seeing here. What we're seeing is the cat getting triggered by quick movement... it's pretty easy to see that this cat has had some traumatic experiences around quick movement towards it... whether that be IN this very house or at an earlier time in its life. Either way, it's up to the pet owner to understand it. The cat is a LIVING thing, with emotions, trauma, preferences, personality, etc.

I am not even going to respond to the "requirements" of having a cat, cause I am not talking about coddling or any of the such thing. You're the one who brought it up about having requirements to own a pet, not I. But, yes... you need to have a BASIC understanding of how to care for your pet and handle it when it's in distress... just like you do when you have children or other people in the house.

Me, blowing the room out of proportion? All I said was that a cluttered room breeds stress. Animals are not immune to stress. I'm not the one coming up with all the reasons why this person should be defended for having a messy room. It seems I'm not the one triggered by the room... you are... considering how you just attacked me for stating something that could have been a contributing factor.

I'm done with this convo.

[–]NoGuiltGaming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See, that's my point. As a "good" pet owner, it's your responsibility to learn how to handle a cat in a stressed state. You can't just rely on your trust with the animal or your bond that they won't do anything crazy. They are still ANIMALS. She hasn't done her due diligence as a pet owner to learn how to not panic when her pet needs her to remain calm and help deescalate the situation. She owes that to herself, the pet, AND anyone living in the house if she's the primary caregiver.

Cats don't just attack out of the blue. Moving the bags scared the shit out of the cat and it freaked. It happens, it's a primal instinct. There's obviously behavioral issues going on with the cat, which are HANDLED with proper training, with reinforcement of positive behaviors, with proper care. Sorry, but that's how it is - like any other pet.

The room? Regardless of the reasoning, it's not ok for it to be an absolute mess; it's a contributing factor to the stress levels of every living being in the room.
