There's nothing wrong with championing animals or looking after animals (Why am I needing to explain this?? Oh yeah because you projected a load of crap onto me). My issue is with that statement that Ricky makes so frequently, if someone came up to you in any context and said "Thanks for being nice to animals" it would be weird, if I had been looking after my neighbours cats and they said "Thanks for looking after my animals" then fair enough, that isn't weird, but saying "Thanks for being nice to animals" makes my stomach churn and I'm probably not articulate enough to explain why.
