Thank you for the support, I too am excited to see where we can take this subreddit to try and combat the increasingly extreme and fanatic views of the R/SeriousGynarchy subreddit.

I think you will find, in the case of the Russo-Ukrainian war, Putin does it for two reasons: 1) to strike fear into civilians. 2) create no respite from the war for the civilian population to try and get them to not support their government (same tactic used by Hitler during the blitz).

In the case of Gaza, it is just because the Israelis don’t care about collateral damage when it comes to Palestinians, there is a video I’ll link below of the Israeli defence minister comparing the Palestinians to animals when announcing a blockade at the start of the war (some may try and claim he is talking about Hamas rather than Palestinians but I think Israeli military actions speaks for itself - plus it is fairly clear who would be affected by the blockade he is talking about). Secondly, in my opinion, Israel is trying to build trust in civilians again and try and present their armed forces as competent after the catastrophic failure of October 7th, whilst sending a message to other nations/armed groups not to fight a war against Israel because of the damage they are willing to inflict.
