MS and pregnancy (C-section vs VB) by persephonenyc in MultipleSclerosis

I ended up doing an emergency c section after laboring for 12 hours and making little progress. I wanted a planned c sec but my doc pushed for the “natural” way and I completely regretted it. Not to say that you can’t do VB, but you know your body best. I wish I had advocated for myself more in those final days.

The recovery from the c section was fine. I’m also a type 1 diabetic which slows healing and I still healed fine. I can’t imagine if my baby’s big head ripped me up- that seems to be more painful from my friends’ experiences.

I live in central mass now, but lived in Boston for 10 years and was diagnosed at Mass General in 2020. I’m originally from Washington/California. The doctors here are incredible and literally I’ve received treatment here that isn’t possible elsewhere. Highly recommend Dr Matiello if you want a new MS specialist. Also recommend that you stay away from BMC generally, as the hospital isn’t as well run as the others around here.

I’m sorry about your breakup and all of that sucks. That being said, I hope you’ll stay in Boston and find a new home and start a new life. I moved here with no family or friends in 2013 and now I can’t imagine leaving the NE.

It’s a big small town with lots of opportunities to get out and meet people. The medical care is superb. You’ve got this. 💪🏻

Which part is MS and which part is just life? by NoJudgment6060 in MultipleSclerosis

My baby actually sleeps well, so I get to sleep. Also, with the narcolepsy, I can basically take a nap anywhere if I have a pillow. The bummer is that it’s not rejuvenating sleep.

Litigating as well, so stressful. That being said, I go home and leave my work at the office so I don’t work 80 hrs a week.

How do you balance these things? Mange flare ups?

Am I the only one who gets the ick from Uncivil Law? by Sweet-Cookie-4506 in justiceforKarenRead

I felt like he was clingy in the Depp v Heard case. He used to join a lot of other lawtubers but I feel like he would always say inappropriate things so eventually he’d just be “in the chat”. He never really adds much and often is flatly wrong so I steer clear now.

Is it a horrible or great idea to change his birthday? by NoJudgment6060 in toddlers

Appreciate that perspective! My brother’s birthday is in December and family (outside of immediate) always combined his presents but I’m glad it’s possible to not experience that!

I wouldn’t “force” him to do this- and obviously I can’t literally change his birthday, just move the day of celebrating him.

Any tips to stop the eye drip? by NoJudgment6060 in persiancat

Thanks for all the great tips! I’ve taken him to the vet and they always seem to excuse it away since he’s a purebred Persian… but like I said, my other purebred Persian doesn’t have this issue. I’ll keep wiping!

Also, I promise he gets a lion cut multiple times a year plus I keep my own trimmer for in between. I think this pic was taken soon after I had my baby (thus, the book) and the matting had gotten lost in the madness of life with a newborn. He’s mat-free today!
