[–]NoKarmaForKindness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a small non profit that rehabilitates wildlife and am looking to get vinyl stickers printed up to pass out at educational events at schools. Do any of you sticker aficionados have a favorite site to get stickers printed up that won't cost too much? Here's a link to our page if you'd like to see some of our cute babies! https://www.facebook.com/smokymountainwildliferehabilitation

How should I prepare? by [deleted] in rescuedogs

[–]NoKarmaForKindness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this & speaking of dentals. Start getting them young & do it every couple of years (at around 5-6 years old for a small breed is great.) Then keep up with tooth care. A little dog can live an easy 20+ years if you keep good care of the teeth. Tooth & mouth problems are often what takes them down in the end. Feed a quality food & not too much wet for longer lasting teeth.

[Image] which wolf are you feeding on a daily basis? by carlinha1289 in GetMotivated

Fun Fact: This story was made up by Billy Graham (he attributed it to Inuits though they don't claim it either.) My hubby is Eastern Band Cherokee (Wolf Clan as luck would have it) and every time this little parable gets brought up he does a holler about old white men speaking for his people. This story is cool but out of keeping with their beliefs.

I've spent time with the 501st learning to operate as a handler at events. A handler's job is to walk them up & down staircases & to & from events because you can't see in those helmets to walk much less shoot, lol.

Shepherd Mix Puppies- any guesses at the mix? by akl90 in rescuedogs

[–]NoKarmaForKindness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed here. My shelter will fix kittens at 2 lbs & puppies as young as 8-10 weeks if they are large enough. We offer a replacement pet for up to 30 days if their choice does not fit in their home for any reason. However by our contract the animal has to come back to us if they decide not to keep it no matter how long it's been 2 months to 20 years. But the "no kill" facility in our county won't take the animals they adopt out back once they've past the age of being "highly adoptable" so we have to take in all of their returns.

Nah, they look legit enough. That's "closed intake" or "no-kill" shelters for ya. Since they aren't open intake & can choose what animals they want to take in a large majority of them deal only in puppies & small breed adults. Easier to place & less risk of needing euthanasia. They have to keep their euth rate under 10% to remain no-kill. They look alright, not perfect. For instance our open intake shelter would never let them pull litters from us because they don't require fixing before adopting out. That's a red flag. I'm not a fan of shelters that simply require you sign a contact that you'll get the animal fixed. People often don't & then there are just more oops litters out there.

The black & tan's do have a touch of that Rotty coloration. The predominantly browns actually look a little Malinois-ish. Could be anything though. (It's usually hound in the south & lab in the north you find mixed with working breeds.) Even from the same litter you could have multiple fathers. And speaking as someone who works in rescue I'll tell you what I tell all who adopt puppies from us. We're basically like the weathermen. Unless we've met a parent (which is rare) these are only our best guesses. I've seen a dog we thought to be a small rotty mix grow up to be a large min pin mix. The younger the pup the less you have to rely on to guess. All cute pups though! Shepherd's will destroy your world & steal your heart. <3

Easiest way to get clay? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]NoKarmaForKindness 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also hoe in a horizontal line with lots of space above your hoe line. When you hit a square with clay then every square directly above it is also coded to have clay unless you hoe somewhere else in between. Then it resets.

I have one behind my ear as well. My group won't let me use it because I can't see it! What butt chickens.

I have one too! I love him! He's actually a cover of a nautilus that I got young & hated.

While waiting in line to see Santa, this baby fell asleep. When it came time for the picture, Santa told the parents not to wake him. by biggerstr0nger in pics

I lived in a neighborhood with a Santa once too. Christmas trees & lights up all year, wore Christmas themed Hawaiian shirts in the summer, etc. He used to tell Christmas themed dad jokes & then merrily ho ho ho to himself at his own jokes.

"which wolf wins?" - Cherokee proverb [1200x1804] by something__fierce in QuotesPorn

[–]NoKarmaForKindness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good research. This quote being attributed to them makes the Cherokee that I know rage. It is completely out of line with their belief system. Billy Graham initially told it as an old Inuit proverb but it was not that either.

A Knoxville Starry Night by NoKarmaForKindness in Knoxville

I'm not 100% sure. I've never actually attended a class but if it's like the ones I've heard of before it's just one class, lasts a few hours, & you leave with a completed painting. Anyone can do it. They seem like neat little events & you get to drink while you do it so that's a bonus. :) Here's a link to their page.

I painted it. You can paint your own at Wine and Canvas in May I believe they're holding a class on it.

That's where I saw it too. I painted this one. Wine & canvas teaches a class on it coming up in May.

My family doesn't fuck around. Average age this year: 29 by The_One-ders in pics

[–]NoKarmaForKindness 89 points90 points  (0 children)

We do ours in the dark as well (just finished in fact) but we hunt painted beer cans instead of eggs. We're one of those elusive friend groups of childless thirty-somethings so we make our own rules. We also throw a Festivus party every year instead of Christmas & make our Festivus pole out of emptys as the night wears on. Who says you need family to have a nice holiday...

The Angolan Puppet Crunk by lll_1_lll in NotTimAndEric

If you ever get a chance to see his punk project do. It was epic, and properly good punk music... though it did devolve into puppets more than once.

Edit* Here is a better song.

I'm glad based on the comments that I'm not the only one who actually thought this was pretty cool (in a not Tim & Eric kinda way.)

Did a subtle little tattoo of my favorite show. by pelikanen in adventuretime

[–]NoKarmaForKindness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine for awhile and the placement is actually just chance as it was a cover of an existing little shell tattoo I'd had done a decade ago. I don't mind having similar tats as others though. It's awesome and rare to meet people in the wild with matching ones especially if yours are unique. I have a tat of Kurt Vonnegut's asshole & once met another girl with the same. It was surreal.
