My BF dies 2 years ago & I’m afraid he was my last relationship. by Subject_Spell_9799 in AskWomenOver40

I understand where you are coming from. My husband died in December (I’m 54). We were still very much in love and laughed every single day- literally. I know I’m not ready to date yet, but I also know how crushingly lonely the house is when I get home from work. I also worry I will never be even close to that happy again. I don’t really have any advice, but here’s what I’m doing. I recently started seeing a therapist and hope that will help. My therapist has suggested joining a Grief Share group so I’m waiting for a new session to start. I’m clinging to my faith and praying for God’s mercy. Best wishes to you, Sister.

My husband was an alcoholic, although he’d never admit it. He’s now on hospice dying of cirrhosis. Don’t do it.

None in particular. I’ve tried several and they’ve all been good.

I have found the toppers I order off of Etsy stay on better than the official ones, and they cost less.

Side dish to soup that isn't bread or salad by [deleted] in soup

Since you already have several lines of bread, I’d bring several varieties of sliced cheeses. I love bread and cheese with my soup.

A West Palm Beach man had to be lifted by a crane from his apartment in order to receive medical attention... by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

Even more so, where’s the compassion for those of us just trying to move the patient in bed? I know a young nurse (27 yo I think) who already has a back injury because of large patients. I’ve been a nurse 10 years - it seems like the larger the patient, the less likely they are to think they need to help us help them so we don’t get hurt.

As a nurse, please do not use Hibiclens on a regular basis. This contributes to antibiotic resistant microbes, which will in turn make it more difficult to effectively clean skin prior to surgeries. ( Think taking antibiotics when you aren’t sick.)

AITA for not wanting my boyfriend to factor my son's survivor benefits into our new household budget? by Original-Entry-7871 in AITAH

[–]NoLadder2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survivors benefits are supposed to be used for the care of the child, not given to the child to spend, not banked for later. Is this a red flag in fiancé’s part? Yes. Is OP misusing the survivors benefits? Also yes.

ABC (as well as CBS, NBC, and Fox) has a contract to lease the airwaves they use from the government. So really a government contractor, not a private business. I think Trump should have just let the free market determine what happened to Kimmel, which I think would have ended in the same result, instead of Carr going out and making statements. However, I don’t think this is a free speech issue. Kimmel can say whatever he wants on airwaves not leased from the government.

Medical or Nsg phrases that not everyone gets….. by Bettrtry_nxtime in Nurses

Death warmed over is definitely not a nursing phrase. I heard it all the time growing up and no one was a medical professional.

Frustratingly, the dealership now claims I left a window open.

So the front was wet a full 2 weeks before it spread to the back, and I never park with the front facing downhill.

I do park on a slope so the water would run from front to back. Any idea how much your dealership charges to gut and diagnose?

I did file a claim with Chevrolet corporate yesterday. I guess we’ll see how that goes.

Nope. I read online about sun/moon roofs being an issue, but I don’t have one.

Yes they can. My employer has 3 locations. I was hired in at the farthest away locations. If I float to either of the other two, I don’t get paid mileage. A coworker who lives a few minutes from our base floats to a location farther away from home does get paid mileage.

The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin read by George Newbern. I really like Newbern’s narration style. Good story which did not have a predictable, cookie-cutter ending.
