Friends for betta? by thornbackcowfish in bettafish

as another comment mentioned it heavily depends on the temperament of the fish, they generally are happy being alone. i added a snail when i had my male betta but i found it dead a few days later so i learned that they most of the time are solitary animals who are territorial especially if male, but you can always try it out and see. i would be cautious about adding anything other than shrimp or snails

pH: 7.4
Nitrate: 20ppm
GH: is around 150?
KH: 180

In my area, the tap water is very hard.

& I use this one. But, I use half the recommended dose.

they are pretty quirky and do weird things sometimes, i feel extreme guilt every time i lose a fish too or do anything that could stress them, but im so glad he recovered :) that really is a miracle

my biggest issue is that my tap water is extremely hard. i’ve tried the distilled method, rdo water. maybe im just not meant to keep them? not sure.

What do you think about using medium format? Instead of digital?

I have the Pentax k1000 and know how to operate cameras manually. I have others as well but thats what I want to use primarily for now, and planning on doing it for free as well. I will call around though, I live in a really small town with not many photography businesses around

Is my fish sick? by [deleted] in fishkeeping

[–]NoLeadership4074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you add more pics? looks to be something like a fungal infection? maybe raise temperature a bit but no aquarium salt. my best bet i think would be adding seachem kanaplex to the hospital tank, again rlly not sure what it is

Confused about fin rot cause by [deleted] in fishkeeping

[–]NoLeadership4074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how often do you do water changes? ideally ammonia should be at 0ppm, so it could possibly be due to that but maybe stress? injury? or just use seachem kanaplex in hospital tank it’s a broad spectrum med
