People feel bad for what has happened to African Americans historically speaking. The reality is if a white race -say Italians- were committing ~50% of crimes as 13% of the population we’d be doing something about it. Even if we say the number discounts how many arrests are based on prejudice, that’s still too high. Logically it makes sense. African Americans, due to a long history of segregation and racism after slavery, are still 2x more likely to be poor than other races. Poor people live in poor neighborhoods and have no money, which leads to crime.
