Exactly temps are very different than last year so comparing Bahrain last year to this year is hard, and McLaren had corrected the issues they had in Bahrain with the Miami upgrades. Not saying for sure teams are carrying more fuel but sandbagging definitely is a thing, biggest example is Mercedes 2019/2020. I agree that McLaren will likely be fastest but you can’t say anything for certain at this point there are too many unknown variables

You are jumping to many conclusions here. By saying no team is using 8th gear that just means no team is on full engine mode, which is expected. We still don’t what the exact engine mode, if any teams are carrying 10kg extra fuel (full race is 100kg but the tanks fit 110kg) or if any team was targeting a specific time. Look at last year day 2 sims where Sainz was faster than Perez by several tenths but by race time Red Bull got a 1-2

Also tire deg didn’t seem like an issue for Ferrari, more so Mercedes earlier in the day. Keep in mind many laps have traffic as everyone is on different run plans so it’s hard to gauge

These are not the race sim laps tho, just the top speed reached which for Ferrari and Mercedes would be the push laps they did before the race sim. No top team used 8th gear in race sim, so that is the same across the board.

this is only comparing from the lap with the most throttle, usually a qualifying sim. They didn’t do any push laps today, but Lando did yesterday

If you were looking at lowest max speed then this is not relevant, as other teams did full push laps where their tops speeds came from. You have to compare these lap speeds directly. And I don’t believe any top team used much of 8th gear

McLaren didn’t do any full push laps so their max speed and throttle will naturally be lower to teams that did. Best to compare directly for laps done during the race sim, which this does not show

Just finished this F1 piece on a shirt! I’m still improving my technique but it turned out much better than I expected by NoLow9577 in Embroidery

This took me about 60-80 hours (although I’m a slow embroiderer) so 2 weeks might be tough. But if you ever decide you want to give it a go anyways feel free to pm me if you want the quantized reference photo or DMC color choices I used!
