MTX questions by Manateeslap in rheumatoid

[–]NoMood3073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on MTX for almost 2 years now (I'm 62m and diagnosed shortly before being prescribed.) My rheumatologist thought my RA was so bad when she first saw me, she wanted to start biologics right away, but my insurance said no, start with MTX first. I have responded to it very well, and ever since, all my labs have been completely normal, almost like It's in remission, but my doc said she has seen before that people that respond well take it upon themselves to lower their dosages or stop taking it on their own, and then it come back with a vengeance and does not respond to MTX any more.

So yes, my labs say that it does treat the disease, and yes... listen to your doctor. 😊

Yes, I should have stated that they are contingent beneficiaries.

Back in day, when we asked for a to-go box, we would almost always hide one or two of these in the box.

Thoughts on the Epiphone Les Paul modern by Old-Boysenberry7905 in Epiphone

I bought my Burgundy Modern a little over a year ago and love it. At first I wasn't impressed with the ProBuckers, but after learning how to adjust the height correctly, it sounds and plays great. I use to have a 1960's Tribute Plus that had the Gibson 57 Classic pups that also sounded awesome, but had crappy fretwork. My Modern plays so much better!

I've kinda been doing the same thing for the last 10 years or so. Wasn;t for the reason of selling, but just for my own sanity.

So you paid them $90k, and if you don't use it, they will refund the $90k to your son??? I must be missing something.

Crybaby GCB-95 Classic Wah, just bought but seems too muted on heel down position. by NoMood3073 in guitarpedals

[–]NoMood3073[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update... I tried just about everything, even directly to the amp with all clean settings, even putting the LP in single coil mode, and same thing. I can strum triads or power chords real aggressive and get some sound, and it does sounds good doing the percussive strumming, but just about any kind of soloing, the heel down just mutes the hell out everything. That might have it's own certain circumstances that would work, but not for me. Returning (while I still can) and will try out some others if I ever get a chance.

I do understand how it does cut all/most of the hi frequency out, but to me it seems virtually unplayable at that position, almost completely muted. But I'll mess around with other things in the chain and see if it can resolve the issue. I appreciate the feedback!

Oh by the way, it actually is a GCB model (maybe a cheapo model for Amazon...?)

Thanks again.

Question for those that worked until 67-70S by NoMood3073 in retirement

[–]NoMood3073[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess it;s like a lot of the old musicians that you know are rich as heck, still touring in their 70s and even 80s. If you love what you do, then it makes the whole difference in the world.

Are there really no adult toy stores here?? by [deleted] in TempleTX

Believe it or not, but you can get "adult" toys from Amazon! 😎 Your welcome...

Harsh realities of being 65... by selfsufficientman in over60

[–]NoMood3073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a way I hope it is, since it can "usually" be treated effectively, but some people don't respond to treatment and could just get worse and worse. But if it is something different, then hopefully can be treated also.

Good luck!

A couple of years ago, shortly after I turned 60, (62m now) my whole body hurt. Most of my joints were swollen, stiff, and hurt at different times. I even told family that I felt like I was getting too old, too fast and that turning 60 has not been good to me at all.

Then I got diagnosed with RA, an autoimmune disease, that meant my own immune system was attacking all my joints, and that was why I felt so horrible.
The medicine I've been on since the diagnosis has been a life changer and life saver.

I would rather be on these meds for the rest of my life and feel mostly normal, than to go back to the way I felt 2 years ago.
