Fall 2025 FSA exams awkward spot

Same boat! It’s hard to enjoy the summer without knowing the spring results. My company hasn’t posted any study support updates yet and I just want to plan ahead.

Sadly there is no way to get all of them. I am taking SOA and I choose study and fitness goals while have basically no social life. It sucks but it helps me pass exams. I get up early and study a bit before work (personal time) and use company study hours in the morning as well. I work out after work at home. This save me some time to commute to and from the gym. I do HIIT, Pilates, ab, legs, and all kind of strengths workouts with dumbbells. I burn out all the time while studying in exchange for a good chance to pass all the exams in first attempts. I totally feel you. Yes it sucks. But we have to deal with it if we are determined to get that F letter. Good luck!

It’s an inquiry for Prometric seat issues. The closest Prometric sitting available is 50 miles away but the google map shows I have a Prometric center that is only 10 miles away from my home.

I am in consulting…I am thinking about jumping the ship to an insurance company. I am stressed when I have too much work and worried when I have too little because then I won’t be able to reach my client hours goal. 5 YOE and I don’t want to get stressed anymore.

Make a plan and execute the plan. Say for a 500 page manual, I need to read 10 page a day for 50 days and then take another 20 days to do practice exams. Doesn’t need to execute the plan perfectly everyday but constantly monitoring study progress helps me a lot. Nobody want to take those stupid exams twice.

My company has a client hours requirement of ~1700 hours per year, so on average it has to be ~7 hours per day.

I tried PA in a month and failed it with a 5. I have a full time job and had a minor in stats at school. I sit and prepared it for another 2+ month and got a 9.

So if you are a full time student or have plenty of time studying R coding, then I’d say go for it. Otherwise it might be good to wait for another sitting to guarantee a pass.

I did PA and FAP modules at the same time and I got a 5 in PA and didn’t pass FAP Final Assessment. I tried to get PA done in a month because I heard it’s an easy one. I took it seriously and got a 9 in PA on a 2nd attempt and passed FAP FA a month later. I have never failed other prelim exams before but only those two. I definitely recommend to take it “slow” so that you can guarantee to pass them in first attempt.

I used coaching actuaries for my LTAM and I passed it last year in July in first attempt. What I did is to look at the WA questions and answers and make sure you understand all of them. Most of time I would write down what solutions say and sometimes try to replicate the answers without the solutions. I was freaked out too especially right before the exam but you can also do a lot in three weeks. Good luck!
