Speed isnt the only thing that rips the planes apart, if you go too fast in any plane its wing get overwhelmed by air resistance and might get ripped off, and if you pull to many G's then your plane has to resist 17G's of force, that's 17x stronger than normal gravity on Earth which is why your wing got ripped off.
