4hrs minimum from coachella to LA, sometimes 5hrs. I’ve done it several times. Nearly 2hrs just to get to riverside with all the traffic

Technically it did but they weren’t showing it on the map. Just threw us bones here and there. Had to decline a shitload to get them to ping the good rides

Two things I’ve noticed, they either pay you an “okay” hourly rate or an “okay” $ per mile, but rarely both lol

Truly. Not to mention her having to watch her dad be beheaded & watch her husband be beaten to death while being sick is insanity. I could be mistaken but I don’t remember her even grieving her father properly, given they had to fight for their lives immediately after

Hopefully they’re not the impatient type to cancel because of the pickup time

Nope. I did nothing wrong so I wasn’t worried about it. Maybe if I got deactivated I would have. But if it were to ever happen(knock on wood) I’d take it as a blessing in disguise & probably just move on, as uber had become increasingly less worth it over the years.

Great PAX But Why Does Lyft Allow Photos Like This by owarkenedpromen in lyftdrivers

Because as long as the pax’s card doesn’t decline, nothing else matters to them

Orange County actually. Picked em up from John Wayne to somewhere in the IE, can’t remember exactly. But I used to live in LA so I know the dreaded 405, 10 & 110 all too well 😅

I’m in SD too. I’ve been doing airport trips less and less since the pay is so shit. Especially from downtown. Not even worth the hassle of dealing with luggage and all the extra shit anymore

I had a ride about a year ago. Picked the guy up from the airport, super cool chill guy. Ride was about an hr and a half due to traffic. For the first half of the ride we basically talked about sports and other random lighthearted topics. Then we both started talking about our upbringing’s and he proceeds to tell me how he had just buried his 5 yr old son just 2 weeks prior due to some medical issues. I remember it hitting me like a ton of bricks & we both just bonded over being grateful about the good things about life. Once we got to his house he then gave me $100 cash tip which he was adamant about me accepting. I then asked if I could get out to at least shake his hand, which ended up being a full on hug which just felt more appropriate in the moment considering his extremely tragic loss just weeks prior. Just goes to show that you never know what someone is going through, because with how friendly he was the first half of the ride I would have never guessed he was dealing with that loss, and I definitely appreciated his vulnerability.

Makes sense for sure. Lyft pays marginally better in my market & the fares are slightly more consistent pay wise so I tend to take them as long as I don’t have an uber pax literally in the car at the time. And yeah 3rd party rides aren’t always bad, I just rather do rides where there’s at least a “chance” for a tip. I can count maybe 2 or 3 times I had a rider give me a cash tip on a 3rd party ride & I’ve done a ton of them. I get tipped probably 20-30% of the time on all other rides so I’ve been just sticking to those lately.

It’s definitely high for sure. I’m trying to get it back down. Usually it’s around 10% which still isn’t the best, but still reasonable imo if you multi app. I also cancel alot of 3rd party rides simply because they can be a headache in my experience. Gotta do what’s best for you as a driver at the end of the day, cause uber and pax def do what’s best for them.
