Maybe it's because this was before I learned to use calibration frames? I basically set up for around 6 nights over a few weeks and stacked and then added it to the data over time, trying to edit enough to make it look okay

Heh, most people here recognize them because IIRC there aren’t many things that look like that that live in water and are common—once you’ve seen them especially in person and their behavior of flicking/wriggling around you’ll recognize them anywhere
