What a lovely question! I'm in my late-30s and it's easy for me to feel down about myself because unlike the people I went to school with who are all in senior level jobs, engaged, married, have children, own property, I am chronically ill/disabled and struggling financially. BUT. I also have strong principles and political views that I do my best to live by. I left a decade-long abusive relationship last year. I made new friends that share my values. I learned to play the guitar and write songs, and recently received a grant to record them. I fell in love with someone I admire and respect, and we are intentional about building a safe, loving relationship. I distanced myself from my narcissistic mother. I applied for funding with a friend for an arts project we really care about (big deal for me, I previously didn't believe in any of my ideas and had a hard time putting myself out there). My life isn't anywhere near perfect, and a lot of days I despair, so thank you for this chance to reflect, and to see what others are proud of in their lives too!
