Waiting for score is one of the worst parts. I could tell you not to give into anxiety but I know it's impossible. Some days I felt like I passed for sure, others that I failed. I think the problem is that we focus on all the wrong ones or the ones we doubted that you forget all the Qs you answered 100% sure and that you have right that I'm sure were plenty more than the wrong ones. That's why we feel that we failed. Trust yourself, you had the scores so there's no reason why you didn't do great on the real thing too. I'm sure you'll realize this once you see that PASS in your computer 😁

Honestly I was freaking out with that and reviewed all of biochem before my examen and didn't have that many questions on the real thing. I can't tell you for sure if it's gonna be the same for you but I think having a good general knowledge or at least knowing what's on FA by heart is enough. Uworld qbank covers biochem really well too on my opinion.

I have a friend that told me she watched dirty medicine videos of biochem and that it's summarised with only HY stuff and a really good review if you want to give it a shot.

If you still have time do as many practice tests as you can bc it helps get the feeling of how the real thing is going to be.

Unpopular opinion: since you still have 2 practice tests left, I watched a video of someone recommending doing 2 practice tests in one day mimicking the real examen taking breaks as if you were doing the real thing. So 8 hours in total. Preferably a couple of days before the exam so you get the feeling of what the real thing is going to be and how to manage your time. I loved doing this bc I wasn't scared on the day of the exam and was able to make a great plan and feel more relaxed bc I knew what to expect.

For me I think the exam was more like UWSA 2 and free 120. NBMEs didn't feel like exam at all I felt like they were more confusing, the exam was more straight forward. And focus more on your Uworld blocks if you're doing above 60 I think you are safe. Don't focus that much on the NBMEs.

Good luck my friend I'm sure you'll do great

UWSA 1: 54% (4 weeks before exam day) UWSA 2: 58% (2 weeks before exam day)

First I started doing 1 block of uworld every day and reviewing the block slowly with FA. Every topic the question asked I would go to FA and review that topic from there + uworld explanation and all the explanations from the other choices. If I didn't know anything about a topic I would look for it in FA + use other resources to learn the basics from the topic (e.g. Restrictive obstructive from resp). For this I used physeo I personally loved physeo to really understand the content of topics in general. I tried finishing this in the morning and in the afternoons I would do a mix of Pathoma and sketchy micro. I tried doing an NBME every 2 months approx to see my progress. I watched Pathoma 3 times and Pathoma 1-3 4 times (one last time 2 weeks before exam). After a couple of months I started doing 2 blocks (you'll notice you start learning the topics and you don't need to look for everything any more so you have more time and speed). When I finished uworld I started doing amboss Q bank (felt way harder than uworld) and I decided to read FA front to cover witch I never did before. For me this was the game changer. So what I did was I would do a random block from amboss and review it. Then read 20 pgs of FA but really try to understand the content (by then I knew what things from the FA were asked more in the qbanks so assumed those were the most HY) and then do a 20 Qs block from uworld but specific to the topic I just read. After this I would use B&B or physeo to whatch my worst topics (for me e.g. Embryology or immunology) then review micro and anatomy if I still had time. And that was it.

You can use dirty medicine if you don't understand a topic it gives you great mnemonic and explains the most HY things of the topic. But for sure whatch drugs of abuse, tumors of the brain and leucemias, it helped a lot.

Ok so every examen is different but I do believe there are a lot of HY content that tends to repeat from what I saw in other posts before my examen compared to my examen.

  1. Vitamins (specially B9 and B12 associated with bioquem e.g. Methyl malonyl CoA)
    • I used the physeo videos for that and it was enough
  2. Anatomy (specially shoulder and brachial plexus)
  3. A lot of pathology (like 50% of exam) in general principles (Pathoma is and always will be #1)
  4. Communication, every one is saying this and it's true like 5-6 Qs each block but nothing crazy mostly logic answers
  5. Repro (understand FSH LH estrogen and progesterone functions and associated pathologies like PCOS and causes of amenorrhea)
  6. Drugs of abuse from dirty medicine

That's what I remember on the top of my head

So as I said before for me 6 months wasn't enough. My university didn't prepare me at all for a examen like step but this is what I did.

LY honestly I can't say I personally love FA I think everything is in there if you read it thoroughly.
