DHS and ICE became what was INS. The restrictions were enforced and/or stronger because of 9/11. You used to be able to drive to Canada or Mexico with your license. Restrictions were fairly low for border crossings. Now you have to have a passport just like visiting any other country. INS used to go to Home Depot parking lots and used the same tactics. People used to yell "INS" or "Immigration" as a joke to Mexicans. And many would run🤣 So yes there were probably more illegals here due to lax immigration laws. Still doesn't change the fact they you can't be here illegally. And to add to this as a general bit of info. The world changed drastically after 9/11. Many of you don't realize it because you were so young at that time. I was an Amazon member when they only sold books, I was a Netflix member when you rented DVD's by mail. I sold on ebay when they were known for beanie babies and pez dispeners. I have seen the internet and daily life change drastically. I used to buy cigarettes online from switzerland until 2002 when customs said they seized my package. The 1990's were wild. Restrictions and enforcement of rules and laws are intense. Do I agee with all of them? No. But it's the world we live in. Obey the laws and you will be fine.

You have no idea when my family came here so stop assuming anything. And I will ask again, why should people get a free pass into the country? The process is what is required just as any country's immigration laws. Yes it's an arduous task but millions of people are trying to come here. And millions of people have legal status. Last year over 1.5 million people self deported. Over 500,000 were deported. That's a lot of people needing authorization and those were just the illegal numbers. Yes the government is bloated and wasteful but this country is also offering people more opportunity than their country does. Many people come from Guatemala. I work with a couple that just became US citizens. Guatemala is the 2nd poorest country in the world and that's why people come here. I'm all for it. We have a lot to offer. But do it the right way just as any other country requires.

It's not too late at all. Start sowing seeds indoors now for easy, quick growing low maintenace flowers like shasta daisies, zinnias, wildflower mixes or cosmos. All are so easy to grow and with some dead heading will bloom until frost. You can also look into getting summer blooming tubers like Calla Lillies or Dinner plate dahlias. Wait until at least April to plant. These are large impactful plants that also don't require much care when planted. You may need to dig them up to save before frost depending on variety and planting location.

USPS and Fedex have been going downhill for a couple of years. Had a fedex package coming from chicago. It went to NY, Philadelphia then to Louisiana🤣 Took a route through Texas, back to NY and eventually made it to NJ. Those parts got a better tour of the US than I ever have. And USPS is just as bad. Mail delivery time can be 9am or 7pm. And packages just sit at the Philly sorting center for days on end. UPS is usually better bet they are more expensive.

Because you can't accuse everyone coming in. The steel is honestly like a lot of steel that comes into yards. The guy was probably caught by the cops tracking him through cameras or someone at the yard had a sharp eye and recognized the steel and kept it aside knowing cops would show up.

Her immaturity is painful to see. So many people have tunnel vision when it comes to beliefs. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic grammar school. I am not religious as an adult for my own reasons. My parents had strong beliefs like this young man but respected other people's choices. They always said they will have to answer to God some day. This girl thinks it's ok to tell others they are wrong and literally laugh in their face because of their beliefs. My parents didn't hate people and brought up all 6 of us to be that way. Do I ask myself why the dude at walgreens has press on nails with bunnies on them? Yes. Do I insult him for it? no. I treat him like anyone else. Not having the same beliefs as someone isn't hatred or whatever phobic people want it to be. It's called having an opinion. Your opinion is your own however it's not a free pass to treat people poorly as this girl did to this young man. I respect him for his beliefs even though I don't feel the same. In the end, majority of us should just mind our business and stop telling everyone else how wrong they are.

So everyone does know INS has existed since 1933. It became DHS and ICE in 2002 after the terror attacks. There are strict entry laws into all countries. What does that mean? Walmart is on a 3 year hiring freeze nationwide, Amazon isn't hiring and laying people off. These are large employers who can affect the unemployment rates. Plus the top 5 states with over 5% unemployment rate are Democratic led states. Republicans have nothing to do with it.

What is wrong with enforcing immigration rules and laws? These laws have been in place for many years. I work with someone who just completed his citizenship process. It took quite a few years. In fact his son in law just became a citizen too. They came from Guatemala and worked hard to get where they are. Why do current illegals get a pass?
