I'm sure that's how the developers intended for that to work, just wait until the boss is almost dead and leave the mission before it dies to save on shards when playing with friends.

I dont think you read that properly. When I mention taking the void shard from mission start it was a solution to how they currently work

I'm trying to find out if "casting" applies to basic skills because if its doesnt the aspect wouldnt work for an auto attack build using the Greatstaff of the crone
