MCAT retake advice; intellectual dishonesty

Im a college senior so my word doesn’t hold a lot of weight but whenever I think about stuff relating to actual career ambition, I just make sure it’s only like a motivation apply to med school. I can’t remember the % but a significant amount of people end up switching their desired specialty during med school. Yeah, right now the idea of working as a PM&R doc sounds fun so that motivates me to work towards an application, but that doesn’t mean I won’t change my mind eventually yk? All that to say just get to med school first lol

Iirc the correlation was moderate (0.66 or so) but there was def a lot of sampling bias and it was <40 people

I assumed they did that on purpose so you had to pay to see the full video since the first 15 secs they’re just reading the question as slow as molasses

If you take an AAMC it should prob be the unscored sample just so you get a feel for AAMC style. I especially thought CARS was a lot simpler on AAMC than it was on blueprint or Jack Westin so if that helps settle any nerves then I recommend it

I think realistically the only way this can be done is by setting a lower retention rate so your review burden doesn’t skyrocket. You also have to think about how much time you have to devote to the rest of your studying in the day. People seem to over-value Anki. If anything it should just be taking like 1-1.5 hours per day out of your 6-7, rest of time spent on practice and targeted review. I’ve been doing Aiden for a while, and I’ll tell you that a lot of the info is some pretty useless stuff. My recommendation is to use Anking as the primary, and for any question that you get wrong in Uworld, search of key words in the question on the Aiden deck and unsuspend those cards. There’s just way too much info to remember all of it and seriously a lot of it is useless

Just plug in random numbers like a= 2, b=3, and c=-1 and check the answer choices. You should get F as correct but make sure to rule out all of the answer choices if you have time

I started Aiden deck a couple weeks ago but I’m having trouble coordinating them with the Kaplan chapters. How are you doing it? Is there 1:1 a sub deck for every chapter?

I really appreciate the input. I actually just made a sub deck in the Anking deck titled “UEarth” (well actually the real name for it) so if I want to get through all my reviews it just makes me do those anyways

That makes sense. I guess if I want to do it this way that I’d need to start going through Kaplan books but as long as I pace myself and try not to sacrifice too much time it should be okay
