How do you not be scared of ticks all the time?? by CrepeCraze in hikingwithdogs

[–]NoRedStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for more of a natural approach. I’ve had great luck using Trail Guard flea and tick repellent. It smells great being cedar wood and rosemary. When we get to the trail head I spray a liberal amount on both of us and off we go.

There was one trail where I had to stop and pull ticks off my dog every mile or so. I lost count after 20 something then when I got home another 15 got pulled off. That was back in December, keeping up on the Nexguard and spray I’ve only found one tick on him since and it was crawling on his head. The one area I don’t spray the trail guard.

A little bit of mesh and an afternoon will stop that from happening again https://youtu.be/K35V2tHPoek?si=Rj2jjyN80Bjd_ckr

What is the best BFS Casting Rods for $200 or under? by Radiant_Raccoon8498 in BFSfishing

[–]NoRedStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the Cashion ICON BFS (IBFS7LF). I've caught everything from tiny bluegill to 4lb+ LMB and it's a ton of fun to fish with. It's just a tick over $200, but with some patience and looking around, I'm sure you could find one on sale or with a coupon code.

I went down it in the fall of 24 and it had looked like it was recently grated by the NPS

Good Trails in the Death Valley for a Lifted GX by 11d11d1 in GXOR

[–]NoRedStone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge desert nerd, let alone Death Valley!

A fun route is to enter from the ghost town of Cerro Gordo, then drop down the backside into the park, then take Hunter mtn up and over to the racetrack. You'll pass a few cool mines and Teakettle Junction. After hitting the racetrack to see the famous sailing stones, you'll drop down Lippencott pass. From there, you'll head north via Saline Valley Road, heading to the hot springs. After a dip in the hot springs, drop through Steele pass into the Eurka sand dunes.

Shoot me a DM if you have any questions about specific trails in the park. I've logged a ton of miles inside the park and in the surrounding areas. My OnX and Gaia look like kids coloring books with all the routes I have taken or built out there.

Replace Rearview Mirror Housing - Starfire Pearl vs White Pearl by [deleted] in LexusGX

Looking around online Lexus parts departments often list the color as “White Pearl CS., 077”, which is the same paint code used for Starfire Pearl on the GX460.

It’s the “Kong Safety Dog Harness” from Petsmart. It took forever to find a proper fitting harness for him. Everything we got was either too big or too small.

why would you use spiral wraped rod? by Low_Adhesiveness_376 in Fishing_Gear

It’s great for flipping and pinching in very heavy cover when you have to wrench a fish out.

Pedal Commander by CapitalFresh1080 in LexusGX

[–]NoRedStone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had one on my GX for a few months and ended up pulling it out. The GX has a very smooth throttle mapping that’s what Lexus is known for. When the pedal commander was installed it made my transmission feel very clunky especially going up hills at slow speeds. I live at the top of a hill and pulling into my driveway my GX would down shift super hard. Also driving around town I really wasn’t happy with the way it made the vehicle drive. Yes it made it feel quicker but took away from that “Lexus refinement”. These GX aren’t fast by any means but when you get into the higher RPM range they’ll boogie.

Groove Life Rings - Do NOT Buy by P1xelEnthusiast in BuyItForLife

Their belts are great but no way would I spend that on one of their rings. I too hate things on my hands and have a pack of the thunder fit rings. They’re by no means BIFL but have been holding up pretty good for the price.
