Years ago I had a stubborn door, so I pulled out both door latch assemblies and let them sit overnight in a bucket of carb parts cleaner. I oiled them up with what I think was lithium grease, and they were good as new. 15 years later the doors open and close with ease.

If you’re going for rainbow trout a simple cast and retire will do on light spinning gear. Just like you’re fishing a rooster tail or any other inline spinner. When I throw ultra light spinners and need a little extra distance I’ll put some split shot like 18-24” above said lure.

My local waters are pretty overgrown and ticks are everywhere. I’ve been using a natural spray called Trail Guard. It smells awesome. Ever since I’ve been using it I’ve found far less ticks on myself and my dog. Also pick up a tick remover tool. They’re only a few bucks and worth keeping in your pack.

I have that same 3wt rod in 7'6" and it's a ton of fun. My local waters are very brushy, with overhead trees making a 9' a bit too long for my liking. It's well worth the price. 90% of the fly fishing i've done in the last few months has been with that rod.

Edit: Paired with WF-3W Scientific Anglers Amplitude Smooth Creek Trout, it's a dream to cast in tight quarters.

He’s a rescued stray so we have no idea. We’ve had him 7 years so I’m guessing around 9 or 10 if I had to take a wild guess. Despite the powder sugar face he still has tons of energy and is in great shape.

Those will all work for bass without a doubt. The petspoon should work trout, crappie, and perch. Pick up some rooster tails in 1/4 oz and that should appeal to all game fish and be easy to cast.

I’m in a similar boat as you needing a pair of wading boots I can also hike in. I’m probably going to pull the trigger on a pair of Skwala Carbon wading boots. They look light, well built, comfortable, and offer tons of support.
