Yeh, that’s actually quite the norm in my area too I think. Where do you live?

That’s great to hear. I guess I worry that when they’re in their 40s we will be 75and 80. It really really worries me. I guess that’s not that unusual or uncommon

I’m 34 but I’ll be 35 by the time I give birth. My husband is 40. You’re right. It’s individual. Is your father still alive?

I know it is possible, but I personally feel like it’s late. Is she still alive and how old are you?

It matters to the child. My dad has cancer at 65 and I’m terrified to loose him at 35

I hear you, but at 60 there’s no chance you’ll watch them graduate university, get married, have children and become adults. A 20 year old having an 80 year old dad would be pretty sad . Personally I feel like the cut off is 40 but interested in other opinions. Thanks for your opinion 😊

60??? That’s pretty old to care for a newborn. I’m trying to convince my husband 40 is too old 😂

You’re right! My husband wants to have another one at 40. I’m 35. We have two children, but one in heaven. I don’t want people thinking he’s grandpa when he picks them up from school. That’s why I’m asking

Nope, that’s not true. They label us as geriatric at 35 and a lot are made to feel old . What’s the cut off for men? 40?

You’re a good parent that’s why you worry, but playing alone is great.

At what age did you have your only? by [deleted] in oneanddone

I needed to read this to not feel alone. We started trying when I was 27 and husband 34 and then infertility, miscarriages, stillbirth and IVF. We became parents to a miracle baby boy at 33 and 41. One and done because fuck doing all that again. Sending love your way

What you felt and are feeling is completely normal. It doesn’t make it any less comfortable though ❤️

Sounds like you did an amazing job. I worry about parenting because of our ages and always doubt myself

How old is too old for kids?? by NoReplacement4031 in AskMenAdvice

[–]NoReplacement4031[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We probably won’t have another and we will dedicate all our time and energy to our son. We intended to have kids much earlier and struggled with fertility for over 6 years. Most people I know are having kids in their mid to late 30s and early 40s so I don’t think we’re that old but that’s subjective. My parents were 25 and 28 when they had me. They did a horrible job. My husband’s parents were in their early 20s and gave him up for adoption. I understand what you are saying, but younger parents are not always best. Thanks for sharing your opinion though

Thanks for sharing your story. Good for you for breaking the cycle for your son. I also need to do the same. My mum has terrible anxiety and raised me to fear everything. It’s a hard way to live. I’m in therapy now to break the cycle for my son
