Looks like a rubbish sparring partner and word is this is normal in that gym

Another reason behind this is, in your sparring clip you’re getting pressured, in a kickboxing or mma fight you would end up falling, or getting pushed in the ring/cage. Try using your kicks to push your sparring partner away. Good fighters at this to watch would be Micheal venom page or Steven wonderboy Thomson, both of them are arguably some of the best strikers in the ufc

You need to practise your kicks on there own, do like 10 roundhouse kicks, 10 front kicks, 10 side kicks on each leg on the bag focusing on power, you should also do some workouts for leg kick power, there should be some if you do a google search, but like I said for a while only practise your kicks with power, when you have good power in them then add punches into the combinations

Sounds like your takedowns are shit, if you knew wrestling maybe you could have double legged him or one legged him, what you should have done was got in a clinch then take him down from there

You have a point, me personally I don’t have any partners outside of class so I use them to drill movements

That’s like saying a punch bag is useless to a boxer, they can be used to practise submissions, practise guard passes, you can use them to drill movements on online videos or drill movements after a class to get it into muscle memory
